Example Of A Theoretical Journal
3:00A.M.. The bright light from my phone blinds me as I check to see the time. For the past 3 hours, I have been trying everything to fall asleep; counting sheep, listening to music, even just lying there. Nothing is working. In just twelve short hours, I will be on my way to Europe, and I couldn’t be more excited. There was no way I am going to be able to fall asleep when I have such an amazing day ahead. I decide to go through my checklist of everything that is going into my suitcase. “Tennis shoes… check. Toothbrush… check. Contacts… check.” The list goes on and on. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I startle awake, finding myself sprawled across my clothes covered floor. I groggily get up to turn off my alarm clock as I realize today is the day! It has finally arrived! I jump up and run down the stairs to share my excitement with my parents. I burst into their room and notice they are still peacefully sleeping, but my enthusiasm causes me to shake them awake. “Mom! Mom! Guess what?!”
My mother sluggishly mumbles, “Amanda? What are you doing up so early, we

I step out of the car to hear the sound of planes starting up their engines and racing down the runway. I look up and imagine myself, soaring above the clouds and into the sky. As I walk into the airport and wait in line to check my bags, a wave of both nervousness and excitement rushes over me. I think about all the possibilities of meeting new people and experiencing a whole new culture. My daydream is interrupted when the ticket agent calls me up to check my bags. A flash of nervousness succumbs me, as I fear my suitcase is over the weight limit but I am reassured and I find myself being handed my boarding pass and walking towards the security line. Before I reach it, I turn to my tearful mother and she wraps me into a hug. “Now don’t forget to text me as soon as you can, okay? I love you so much and I’ll see you in two weeks, be safe

As usual, I went to my class in technological training, however, at the end of the day, I returned to my little, beige home. My parents had ordered me a special meal, and I sat down at dinnertime to my final birthday feast. Not knowing what else to do, after helping clean up, I kissed them both goodnight and headed off to my room to watch the clock. It was not until what I thought were my last hours of life, that time slowed down; seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours and hours felt like years on end. It was impossible for me to fall asleep that evening, but as the clock struck twelve, I laid motionless in bed, expecting to succumb to my final slumber. It was not until I opened my eyes before dawn the next morning, that I realized that something had gone terribly wrong. At first delighted to still be alive, I soon became terrified over the ramifications of my survival. If discovered alive even by my parents, I would be hunted down. I would have inadvertently betrayed my parents wishes, and become an embarrassment to my government. A future was now possible for me, but my circumstances were dire. I needed a…

I'm very sorry to say that I went home this weekend and got on the 7:55 train this morning that is now running late and I'm afraid I won't be able to make it on time to class. Obviously today is a very important class day as we will be sharing our obituaries for peer review and getting ready for the turn in of the final product. Ill try my best to make it but by this point I'm sure I won't be able to attend, hopefully I can still do a writing article, notecard submission, and peer review. I know this hurts my partner in this as well and please tell the other student I'm very sorry. Here is my obituary attached.…

“Passengers flying Flight QF563, your gate is now open for boarding”, I peacefully sipped what remained of my coffee and waited for Joshua to finish his bacon and egg roll. Shortly after, we began to make our way to our designated gate. The smell of low-priced takeout food filled the air and couldn’t help, but leave me feeling overly excited. My son and I navigated our way through the clustered crowds of other keen travellers, following the signs above our heads as well as the announcements that were played through the speakers at the airport.…

I woke up tired on a beautiful, sunny, Tuesday morning. It was the day I had to fly to San Francisco for my job on a cruise ship. I had been in between cruises, so I had taken the chance to come see my parents in Newark, New Jersey. Later I realized that it could have cost me dearly. I changed into my pressed, white, long sleeved shirt with khaki pants and my sailors hat that I had to wear for my job as a deckhand. I arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport a hour before my flight, where I hug my parents goodbye. I walk in and go through security easily and go to my gate and wait for thirty minutes until we would be able to board.…

On top of that there are a lot of people scurry every getting our plane ready. I still have not figured out why we are leaving. In today’s society people are always looking to blame someone or something for the way something is run or happening. In Michael Kimmel’s essay, he presents the idea that many people believe that our boys are in trouble. By this he means that they are not being looked at the same way they once were, rambunctious, loud, strong, men. This is what we think he is saying, but going a little bit deeper we see that he truly does not believe there is a war on boys, and in fact they are doing better then most people think.…
