Personal Narrative: The Roller Coaster, Orlando Florida
The coaster
Slowly, I made my way to the towering coaster. As I got closer to the coaster it seemed to just get taller and taller. I finally made it all the way the base of the coaster, the line was stretching for what seemed like a mile. The ride started as I sat and watched in amazement, the ride zipped as it quickly passed me by. Fearfully, The riders screamed like they had all seen a ghost. The sheer speed of the coaster was one to even the biggest and toughest of people to look and be uneasy.
I woke the smell of salty bacon and sizzling eggs. I shot out of bed like a rocket, I was so excited for this day. As I walked down the steep, narrow steps I saw the wonderful sight of the whole family sitting, eating, and enjoying the cool morning.

I walked in holding the big bulky bags of clothing we wanted to take with us. I boarded the plane and heard the deep rich voice of the pilot announce” 12:03 takeoff time, destination, Orlando Florida”. We took off as swift as a bird and flew higher than the white puffy clouds.
What felt like only minutes later we touched down. As I stepped down the steps of the airplane I could smell the salty sea water and hear the palm trees swaying in the wind like they were dancing. All four of us scurred of the plane like little rabbits being let out of their cage for the first time. Not one person was any less excited than the next and In no time I found myself in the rental car. The tires of the car glided on the road seamlessly. We arrived at our hotel just hours later. The next day I woke to the sunlight beaming through the shades and the sound of my alarm clock. I got up made my way to the car and sat down faster than a cheetah. I arrived at Disney World and was greeted by roller coasters, bumper cars, and all kinds of rides. But only one coaster stood out with the mass, it was the biggest the tallest and the

Higher and higher we went until we were at the top. I looked all around me and saw beautiful views. I could see the towering buildings and soaring roller coasters all around the park. I flew down like a bird feeling the cold morning air on my face. My hair blew back sending chills through my body. I blasted left right up down and all around my body flopping loosely like a rag doll. The intense speed was overwhelming and I was going too fast to be scared, I was going too fast to think. The ride was over and everyone put out a big sigh of

Once we got to Six flags we already had our season passes so we headed to the main ride that we wanted to go on, “The Superman.” There was no line there so we headed straight to the first cars. I sat next to Jim. Ben was behind me and next to Tim. The first drop was 220 feet straight down. On the left side I was right next to the river, on other side Jim was facing the park. For about ten seconds we were all weightless. At the bottom of the drop we were going 75 miles per hour. It was the best roller coaster I have ever been on. We all decided to go on it two more times in a row before we finally decided to go find another ride.…

I grab hold of the sticky green railings that could be leading me to my certain death. The screams coming from the ride are unsettling but I continue to walk towards the coaster still. A safety message plays in the background that over every other noise in the park I can only hear faintly.…

It has been many weeks, but we finally heard the ship’s captain scream that he saw land ahead. Everyone on the ship was screaming with excitement. All of us start packing all of our belongings. Now, we had packed everything we came with. We said our goodbyes to the people we had become friends with. Then, the moment came and we stepped out…

That summer day in 2009 had started off innocently enough. It was sweltering and humid, but my sister and I were still adamant on going to King’s Island, the biggest amusement park in the area. I had approached the emerald gates of the park blissfully unaware of the harrowing experience that lay ahead. We began our time at the park by riding the Spider, an ebony colored carnival ride that spun you around in circles until you became nauseated. After that sublime experience, we walked around the park for a bit to shake off the vertigo that plagued us and to find a prospective next ride. In fact, we were moving along splendidly on the taupe brick path that snaked through the park when my sister braked instantaneously, consequently causing me to trip over her heels. She pointed to a strategically dilapidated wooden sign and declared, “That one is next,”…

I’d been working towards this day forever now. Hundreds of humble yet horror-inducing faces stared me down. The buzzing speakers broke the silence in the auditorium, but I was grateful for it. If it was completely silent, I might have been jumpier than frog’s legs in a frying pan. More than I already was. I had waited for 63 people to finish, a good amount of them getting knocked out one by one. Now it was my turn.…

As soon as I arrived within the enormous gates of Busch Gardens, the first thing I witnessed was the gigantic roller coasters hanging over the heads of random people like a venomous snake lurking for its next prey. The shrieks of the people on the rides gave me an adrenaline rush as I stood staring at the massive machines as they soared through the rails. The first ride I went for was wooden, which was one of the most dangerous rides in the park. As I sat and waited in line, I could hear the screeching of the metal as the ride took off, making most people ahead of me coward in fear as they shoved their flip-flops in their backpacks and turned around leaving the line. There were no harnesses to strap across the chest; the hard, metal bar and loose seat belt were your only tools of protection from a fatal fall. As the ride took off, I extended my arms within in the air while the G-force from the immense drop pulled my body tighter against the hard, metal seat of the ride. The hot sun beamed against my face as the ride climbed to its peak until finally dropping again. Although the ride was extremely fast and shaky, I only continued to smile and laugh at my peers who were both teary-eyed and exhausted from the horrific screaming and panicking. As I left, my peers and I walked through the gift shop exit, suddenly stopping…

Five minutes later, we were on our way to Sea World. We laughed and sang until we arrived at the amazing place. I could smell the fresh aromatic scent of the fresh water-park as I stepped out of the car. I heard the birds chirping, a patter and the trees danced with the cool breeze. The first thing I saw, was a huge roller coaster extending over a small building in the sky, that seemed like a mini tower. The water park was colorful and everything was in order.…

I still remember exactly what I was feeling as I walked up to “Wild Fire”, the fifteen story ride that with my luck included a full loop, corkscrew, and high-speed spiral. It was the perfect day to be at an amusement park, with no clouds in the sky and the park in a busy chaos. I was with my family and two best friends as they were on a mission to complete every roller coaster in the park. I, on the other hand, was just hoping that I would enjoy the rides originally created for ten year olds. Half way in our journey through Silver Dollar City, I had managed to skip nearly all the rides my family rode, including a mini roller coaster that still did a wonderful job of scaring me just by watching the coaster crawl up the…

“Wooooshhhhh!!!” At blast off, California Screamin, took us through twists and turns, with an upside down loop. People were screaming their lungs out when the steel roller coaster soared into the air like a rocket. The terrifying speed made my toes curl and the strong wind pushed my head against the rubber black seat. I cried bloody murder on the coaster as it fell plumb down almost touching the ground. All too soon, it was over. After I got off of the thrill ride, I found my haggard look with disheveled hair through a snapshot picture. This is simply too awful to contemplate.…

For about the tenth time the morning of the flight, I checked my room to make sure I didn’t leave anything essential behind. My stomach was doing flips as we arrived at the airport and made our way to the gate. It didn’t get much better than this: I watched through the window as the runway zoomed by and the buildings and houses became smaller and smaller as the plane gained altitude. An exhilarating feeling overcame me as I realized that I would soon be in one of the most amazing cities of the United States.…

The feeling of being woken up to an airplane landing on the runway is an unforgettable feeling. And doing that, I saw a kid. His eyes were shining brightly, a wide grin spread across his innocent face. He was so excited and awestruck at the same time that I have to stop and watch him. It turned out that he was about to ride an escalator. That was all it took to render him in awe- nothing fancy, nothing out of this world. Maybe it was his first ride, maybe his fiftieth. Maybe it didn’t matter.…

What will happen now? I asked myself. When the ride stopped moving, I got out and I still felt like everything was moving around me. I said, “I am not going to try this again”. For a moment I thought my life was going to end because those minutes seemed hours. I thought to myself, “Why doesn’t stop? We felt all sort of things because it was our first time.…
