Why I Want To Join A Council
I feel qualified to be on this council because I have commitment, leadership experience, and a drive to help others. Commitment, ever since I have joined this club I was always amazed by the people surrounding me and their sense of enthusiasm to improve this community. Over my past year, this club taught me how one person can make a difference in somebodies life. I always felt myself leaving every service project we did with a smile knowing I helped positively change at least one person's life. I felt this club has given me a lot of skills and attributes and I want to give back by joining this council. Leadership, I have attended numerous leadership trainings take me to different parts of the country. The first training I attended was in 5th grade when I was chosen by my teacher, for my sense of leadership, to fly to Washington D.C. where I spent a week learning how to be a better leader and how to relate these teachings to that of the men and women who helped contribute to …show more content…
Some other leadership trainings I attended were that of Barrett Summer Scholars and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Institute where I spent a week at the Barrett Honors College and Stanford learning how to furthermore perfect my leadership skills to help improve my community. On top of these trainings I have held numerous leadership positions which I talk about at the bottom of the page. Motivation, If I am ever given a task I will always strive to finish it when needed no matter what the cost. If I am chosen to be on this council I will not stop until every club is running smoothly, helping their community, and most importantly having fun. Without organization, these clubs would fail and less of the community would be unable to be helped. I promise that I will not let this happen to make sure that every club is in

During the course of my high school career, I have developed a strong passion for the organization named the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). FCCLA is a Career and Technical Student Organization that focuses on building students into better leaders for their families, careers, and communities. Furthermore, FCCLA teaches students practical skills that will be useful throughout their lifetimes. This organization has become an important part of my life because it has shaped me into the leader I am today. I began in the organization as a member and participant in competitive events, I have now worked my way up to being my chapter’s President and the Missouri State First Vice President. My leadership experience in FCCLA, especially my experience as a member of the Missouri State…

During high school, I committed most of my free time to my NJROTC unit and my 4-H club. In both of these organizations, community service, leadership, citizenship, and initiative are indispensable values that are essential to their functioning, and I like to think I have learned to embody these traits. In 4-H, I have attended, and then went on to teach, numerous leadership and group trainings. In NJROTC, I attended the Area 5 Leadership Academy, graduated as the Second Honor Cadet of the 2014 Academy, and was selected to be an Aide for the 2015 Academy. I held, or currently hold, leadership positions in both organizations and I feel I set a good example for my peers and subordinates. Through any task, I am enthusiastic about my job and…

Leadership has never been clearly defined due to all the tools and methodologies for effective leadership. Using leadership as a practice allows each person to sculpt their “leadership” personality. Attributes like transformational leadership, empathy, with a combination of communication skill which allows inspiration to meet a common mission. Speaking within a charity organization everyone is a volunteer which means they have many choices to participate or not particiapate which does not lead to consequences of any kind. Most things are based on many different beliefs and situations people are in. The Women of Wisdom charity group exemplifies different leadership theories, the power of influence, the effectiveness of leadership, and how they support the vision and mission allow for many leadership challenges throughout this organization, and as for me there are a few changes I would make but, would they be for the better?…

Throughout my academia, I have been a member of several clubs and organizations, but have yet to attend a free leadership and service conference. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars needs a free in-person event that hosts a multitude of workshops from becoming a better member, to becoming a better leader and more. This event should be a two-day weekend long including update meetings on how the organization is accomplishing its endeavors and goals in terms of membership count, influence in the community, and upcoming events. During a workshop, we could bring in experts to discuss how to become a better writer to increase our chances of earning NSCS scholarships and other scholarships. In another workshop, our members and club leaders…

I have taken on many leadership roles in the past, serving as an officer of my high school’s FFA chapter as well as a high school class officer and student council officer. More recently, I have served as the secretary of St. John Paul II Catholic Ministries at SVSU, as well as the Vice President of Service for Alpha Phi Omega. As an executive board member for our Catholic ministry, I send out weekly newsletters highlighting all upcoming events. I also work with the officer team to coordinate with priests, plan social gatherings, and ensure that all members of the SVSU community are up to date on our events. As an officer for Alpha Phi Omega, I plan and coordinate all community service events for the campus, fraternity, community, and nation. I ensure that we have at least one service event planned each week, contacting and collaborating with numerous community organizations to do so. I plan large chapter events such as our annual Red Cross blood drive and our spring Youth Service Day project, as well as smaller projects such as bingo with the local nursing home. It brings me great joy to be able to share my love for service and my love for the Lord with my fellow students. I take great pride in knowing that my teams and I have such an impact on the campus community through our dedication to these organizations, and I look forward to continuing to serve my community in this way while developing leadership abilities for my future nursing…

Throughout the process of brainstorming, planning, organizing, and working, many lessons presented themselves. One of the largest takeaways for me was learning how much time and effort a leader must put out to create any such event. These difficult tasks were made easier due to the effectiveness of the NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) program that I went to in the course of my time with the Boy Scouts. During it I learned many techniques that have enabled me to become a better leader for not only my good but for those around…

In my school, I am a vital member of our television program and I am the “go to guy” for unknown problems or difficult tasks. My school also has a Technology Students Association (TSA) chapter and in my junior year of high school I was the vice president. In my senior year I am running for president. I am also a member of our National Honors Society chapter and will help lead and guide new member into a new year of service. In addition to these, I was selected by the school as the student of the month. From there, the nearby Rotary International club sponsored me to go to a leadership training camp at Messiah College over the summer. It was there that I learned a lot about leadership and that it is more than just leading people but it is serving them. A servant leader is well accepted and very efficient as those they lead respect and often like to be around…

I have been fortunate enough to experience the opportunity of being in a leadership position during my working experiences. These opportunities have prepared me proficiently to evaluate my own potential of being a leader. I was always eager to serve a student organization because of its beneficial impact on leadership skills and student experience. This became possible when I was the President of Journalism Society during my undergraduate studies at Forman Christian College. Acting as the chief executive, I made a team of 15 members and with their consent I planned out activities for whole year and prepared budget of society. I always encouraged their creativity and innovation to make them feel that they are being empowered. A cornerstone in my leadership was to instruct my team members what to do, not how to do it. This enabled every individual to devise their own solution and then advising them strengthened their confidence and trust on me. I was dictatorial at times when I have to get my point across my team members which will eventually…
