Bann Teenage Driving
This report is about teenage driving. We believe that illegalizing teen driving will reduce the amount of car crashes that happen. Teenage driving has had lots of causes and effects. More attention should be paid to the consequences that teenage driving has caused. We believe that a big part of car crashes have been caused by teens for numerous reason. The government should take action by stopping teenagers from driving.
Most teenagers are very immature and irresponsible. It’s very common for an adolescent to get in to a fight or a disagreement. That’s because most teenagers like to push boundaries. It`s also very common for a adolescent to break rules or live by their own rules. That’s because usually when they act they don’t think about the consequences of their actions. They like to do what they want to do in order to please themselves. Driving is a huge responsibility and if it’s given to a teenager that doesn’t understand the huge responsibility that comes with this privilege lots of big problems could occur. And according to a 2008 report from statistics Canada show that crime among teenagers in Canada rose 3 percent in 2006 and 2007 and 12 percent since 1990.These statics prove the fact that teenagers don’t think about the consequences of their actions which makes them very immature and irresponsible.

Statics show teens have the most accidents .According to the 2005 United States of Transportation, traffic accidents are the number one cause of death amongst teenagers in the United States. The report found teenage drivers aged to sixteen to nighteen to have four times the crash rate compared to twenty-five to sixty-nine. A 2007 American study by the children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and State Farm Insurance Company, with 5,600 students reported that 94 percent reported teens they observed dancing, singing and playing loud .The 93 percent saw teens driving with other teenagers .Other adolescent felt the pressure to speed up. Why is this a problem, especially for teen drivers?| I believe that all car crashes are horrible, dangerous for everyone involved, and most likely always preventable. There's a couple reasons why i think its such a problem, especially with teenage drivers because.... Crashes are the number one cause of deaths among teenagers. More teenagers die in traffic crashes, then homicide, suicide, drugs and alcohol combined. Although teenagers represent 7% of the licensed population, they are involved in almost 20% of all fatal motor vehicle crashes.I could go on and on with facts, but overall lack of driving experience, visual search habits, distractions, speed and space management, and a poor driving attitude is why car crashes are such a problem with teenage drivers. |…

"Teen drivers ages 15 to 20 are 1.6 times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash, compared to adult drivers between the ages of 35 and 40" ("Teen"). About a month ago there was a teen girl driving to school, the roads were bad and she should not have taken a back road. She ended up losing control of her vehicle, causing the vehicle to roll over. If she was not wearing her seatbelt the accident could have been fatal. She is very lucky that nothing more than a totaled vehicle came from the horrific incident. There are many reasons why students should not drive to school. It is dangerous, there is a trouble with parking, and students could have illegal things in their vehicles.…

Teenage accident rates and mortality rates have increased dramatically over the years. Nothing that the parents do and law enforces will protect the teens all the time, especially from themselves. Teenagers do not realize the responsibility that comes with driving. They are often distracted with other things such as texting while driving. Most importantly, parents always worry about the safety of their kids on the road. Some people may say that the driving age should stay at the age of 16; however, raising the driving age to 18 will create safer and more responsible drivers. Firstly, teenagers are very careless. In addition, increasing the minimum driving age will allow teenagers more time to get comfortable with driving. Finally, the number of fatal accidents will be reduced. Therefore, the minimum driving age should be raised from 16 to 18.…

Young drivers are very immature when it comes to driving. They like to show off, and look cool in front of their friends or girlfriend. One of the main things that young drivers do to cause wrecks is text and drive. In 2009 over 5,000 people were killed on us roadways and nearly 448,000 injuries were reported due to distracted driving. Recent studies in 2011 show that 49% of 25 years and younger receive and send texts while driving. More so in the 16, 17, and 18 year old drivers. This is a sign of immaturity while driving. Also young new drivers will try and show off their cars by racing, doing burnouts, speeding, ect. Young drivers do all these things and all these things lead to accidents. According to AAA and Seventeen Magazine 34% of teens don’t think anything bad will happen while driving distracted. Now I think if young drivers are giving from 15 ½ to have their learners permit, and got there driving license at 18 years old it would give them more time to get to know how to drive, and realize how dangerous distracted driving really is. http://www.stoptextsstopwrecks.org/#facts…
