If we look back, just 10 or 20 years, the technology and consumerism has escalated. The technology has become a big part of our everyday-life. We, humans, have founded the technology to make our lives easier in so many ways.
The statement of Leo Babauta from his blog: “… we rarely stop to consider whether technology and consumerism have always changed our lives for the better.” He is questioning whether the world has change for the better.
Even though, the everyday life has become better and easier as a result to the technology, we have forgotten what the real values in life is, and become anti-social in a physical way of living. We spend a lot of the time on our phones and computers especially in the Western World, and do not spend time with each other instead. We do often speak with our friends online. We also forget how we destroy our planet with the technology. We destroy our humanity and our world.
Call me old-fashioned but I agree with him. In fact, I think it is a huge issue in the world today.

To the students: A brand new and sustainable VUC-Lyngby
26. September 2014 by Helene Milland Strandsbjerg
Your class is dismissed, and you are about to leave for today. If you instead of looking out the door to your freedom, just look behind you. You will see trash everywhere, and papers on ground the teacher just handed out to you. The classroom is a mess. I think it is time to change this, and I have some ideas to make the school more clean and sustainable.
I think at us, students at VUC-Lyngby, should think more about the environment, and make it a cleaner place to learn. For that reason, I would suggest some small changes at this school. I would plant some trashcans around the school with three rooms, one for bottles, one for paper, and one for plastic, and in that way sort our trash to recycling. Another thing to do is to tell the teachers not to copy so many papers all the time. Instead of copying, I will

Technology is hurting people intellectually and socially. Technology influences people to be more isolated because people can now just communicate over social media instead of actually talking face to face. People are beginning to become too dependent on technology. For example, technology is used for maps, socialization, shopping, and even books. People are becoming so attached to technology because they can do literally anything with it. In the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Montag’s wife, Mildred became so attached to her television set and her “family” that she completely lost her love for her husband. The empty void in her heart is filled with her television and radio. When Montag is describing how technology has made him isolated, he states, “I cannot talk to my wife. She listens to the walls” (Bradbury 78). Mildred became so dependent and attached to her tv that it is the only thing she cares about, even more than her husband. She became so connected with her tv’s and radios that she does not even listen to her husband when he is talking to her. Technology completely took over her life to the point where she became intensely isolated, much like what is happening to people…

Currently the school is in a bit of disarray. The physical plant is not taking care of the issues that were affecting the school. There is furniture in the hallways and the building reeks of urine. The current administration is lacking as well. The current record keeping is a mess. There is no real structure to ensure record-keeping or to keep track of students’ academic achievement or advancement. An even bigger problem is that there is no accountability for the teachers. Teachers are also straying away from the core SOLs, they take field trips that are not related to subjects at hand. Logistically speaking, grade levels are not in the same wings providing a deterrent for engaging teachers to help one another, and student interaction. Another issue is that students are not scoring well on the SOLs.…

Technology over the years have improved in drastic ways over the centuries and are getting more involved in our daily lives some in good ways but some are bad. Technology has cut off the way humans interact and speak distracting them from doing basic things like talking, cutting off any social interactions hiding behind a screen. People stop talking to their families, when they do talk they feel very uncomfortable and out of place. Ray Bradbury shows examples of technology getting in the way in his book Fahrenheit 451. Ray shows the readers how the power of technology does affect people in many ways in his book how it suppresses and replaces true human interaction.…

Hygiene is a major part of our life, great hygiene within a school is vital to the successe of the school and the students within that school. As we talking about natural environment nowadays, we have to reflect ourselves on what we have done before this to the natural environment itself. Being such an irresponsible person or students who like to throw the rubbish everywhere, practice open burning and step on the grass that has been prohibited, it makes the environment become worst day by day. As we reflect back, this is all because our attitude itself. If we can change our attitude, I absolutely believe that we can also make a difference. Furthermore, what we have to bear in our mind is that, being a student is not just learning things in the class, but we also have to learn on how to manage our nature or our respective land or in other words our environment itself because we live in this world as a community and we are not alone. Thus, we should consider certain things to make sure that all the people can live in peace without being disturb by the others or by our attitude that can gives an impact to the society itself.…

The no.1 facility that causes problem for the students is the comfort room. The comfort room in public schools nowadays is an eyesore. The odor that the comfort room releases causes illness in students and visual pollution every time the students visualizes the comfort room. The no.2 facility that has serious problem are the classrooms where the students have their classes at. The students deals with that kind of atmosphere instead of listening and focusing on the class discussions but the students focus on complaining how the classroom is so hot , and the odor inside the classroom that are caused by unmaintained cleanliness inside the classroom. The hot aura from insufficient ventilation in the classroom is another reason for a bad odor that are spreading inside the classroom and another reason that there’s a higher possibility that the students may acquire illness from the unbalanced environment.
