The message of stewardship in the bible.

The bible has multiple stories of stewardship. The message for stewardship is to be responsible, accountable and to look after something. Stewardship is an ethic for managing and planning responsibilities. Being a steward can be involved with you at school, home, with your freinds and around the local community. God said to Adam that he was to be the ‘steward’ and was to look after the land that he was given, this bible reference links to the common society where we are still to look after the environment.

These have links in between each other. The Touchstone ‘Justice and Solidarity’ states that we are called to stand in solidarity with those who are marginalised and the Earth itself (Touchstones). This means that we are to look after those in need and the natural environment of our community our school and all the areas around us. This links to stewardship, which is to take care of and to look after something, because to care for other and look after others we have to be a steward of creation and a steward of environment. This is an important link because Stewardship and Justice and Solidarity are both important key factors of life that we need to live out.

Strategies for how students at nudgee can participate in recycling here at school and in the local community.

The ways we can get students to take part in recycling at school and in their local community is to ;
Enforce community service for schools on particular lunches so the students can take initiative to recycle themselves.
Have multiple clean up Nudgee days maybe 1 or 2 a term so that the school can join together as a team to clean and recycle.
Put more bins at school and around the streets, so the bins are in more convenient places for those travelling around.
Have rewards for those who recycle a particular amounts throughout the year or term, which will make people try to recycle because there is a goal involved.
