Personal Narrative: You Re Going To Be A Big Child
One cold december evening, my sister and I were hanging out at home. I was five and my sister was 6. We fought A LOT about the dumbest things. For example, who used what color headband on what day or who got in the shower first. One day my mom and stepdad had some kind of announcement. They handed us both a pink picture frame with unicorns, rainbows, and a piece of construction paper that read “You're going to be a …”. Ryan got it a bit quicker than me. After a couple minutes of staring my mom she finally unveiled the secret that was “You’re going to be a Big sister”. We were super excited and could not wait to help out when the time comes.

( 9 months later) Our grandma, was rushing to come pick us up from We Care (basically day care).

It was called Babies R. Us. Now, if you can't already tell it was a store for babies. We were going in to only pick one toy for THE BABY. Of course, they had a couple barbies and such that caught Me and Ryan’s eyes. Finally, we found the toys we had been looking for. Mine was the duck from Wonder Pets and Ryan’s was a stuffed animal blanket. We checked out our presents for the baby and went on to our next stop.

For the final stop, we “needed” to run through Panera or any bagel place. In case you’ve never had hospital food, it is foul. So I can understand why Aaron, my stepdad, would have prefered a bagel over that garbage. We finally left ‘Babies R. Us and were on our way to Panera. We grabbed the poppy seed bagel and were headed out the door.

After all that was done we were on our way to the hospital. It felt like a million years. When we got there, we rushed in to tell them we were visiting my mom. The very nice lady gave my big sister Ryan and I a sticker to put on our matching dresses. As soon as we got up into our mom’s room, Ryan and I could officially confirm the fact that he was a cute baby. His eyes were as blue as an ocean. Oh, and Ryan found a giant praying mantis on the window. Overall, everyone was thrilled to have another Rimel added to the family

She was born on a busy summer night on September 13th 1918 in Brookline, Massachusetts. I always had the feeling that Rosie was a little different from the rest of us. On the day of her birth the midwife arrived late, and my theory is that this action deprived her brain of oxygen. We were proven right when she failed to advance from kindergarten and was deemed to suffer from intellectual disabilities. When this happened our parents began to conceal their third child from society.…
