The day I was completely looking forward to finally came. I was so excited. So ready. But also very nervous. The day I finally got my permit. Ever since I was so little I have always been so amazed with the whole concept of driving, how the people the drove did it, how big of privileges they had and get. The “super cool” things they got to do and the the places they could go on their own. With or without an adult or kids in the car. I have no idea why I have always been so obsessed with driving. But I so am and the fact I finally get to be like all those totally awesome adults/teenager almost every kid admired that got to drive them around and knew what they were doing as well as knowing what their privileges are, is pretty …show more content…
This was a fantastic day. The night before was thinking, “Wow, it’s actually happening. Tomorrow”. Then I woke up the next morning. On a friday! How much better could that have been. There was a football game later, classes went super quick, there was an assembly I was excited for as well. So the classes were short because of the assembly. I ended up getting picked up early. Right after 6th period. When i was headed to the gym. I got called down to the office. My mom got me and then we went straight to the DOL. It took a few minutes, I’d say around 30 minutes because they needed my waver from my drive instructor in drivers ed in to be able to give me my permit. I wasn’t able to get a picture on my permit because my mom didn’t get my actual birth certificate. But then the lady said to get behind the desk and sign everything. Then she printed it out and she handed it to me and we walked out with it and my mom handed me the keys. I got in the car and she did the mom thing and took a bunch of pictures. But in that moment I felt that feeling of growing up. I felt so trusted and I thought about all these huge privileges I had just earned. Like I said, although getting a permit(driving), may not seem so huge to other people, it is huge when it finally happens. I never felt so grown and trusted before.
