It was supposed to be a temp job. The deal was six months, then six months turned into two years. Although I could use the money I really didn’t want to stay. The job was a bit beneath my skill set. I have worked for big companies such as Goldman Sachs, Time Warner, as an executive assistant. I assisted 5 different bosses to land this job with mediocre duties. “Good Morning thank you for calling Blow Bart how can I help you?” What kind of name is Blow Bart anyways? It sounds very perverted. What the company does is fix appliances such as ovens, slicers, refrigerators you get my drift. So all I do all day is schedule techs to come out and fix peoples appliances. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to do it. What about Microsoft office? I spent so…

At that time my English was not proficient, I was not accustom to the American culture, and I was heartbroken due to the fact that I had to leave my family, and friends back home. During the interview, the interviewer asked me several questions regarding the patients that I will be caring for. One the question that made a bad impact during the interview was “if you caring for a patient with Alzheimer. It was a perfectly normal Saturday night, until I sat on the couch. I expected to enjoy a funny movie with my dad, but instead I got a trip to the hospital. I sat on the couch, and then I felt a sting in my elbow. At first, it felt like I got a shot at the doctor, but it slowly got worse, and felt more like a knife slicing into my elbow. I winced and sprung up from the couch. I squinted and my eyes scanned the spot where I just sat down. Aha, I thought. There was a small piece of plastic, and it looked like it broke off from a container.…

One of my most meaningful service opportunities was volunteering in the Utah Special Olympics last June. I spent the morning and early afternoon managing the Track and Field events of the Summer Games with friends and leaders from my church. On this day, I had the privilege of spending time with some of the kindest people I have ever met.…
