When building many of the castles in the 1300-1400’s the main purpose was to keep the enemies out and of course for conquest. In the video I watched, the Forbidden Knowledge video, they called out some very key point of why and how these fortresses and castles where erected and defended. Not only where there kings of the lands, but then each of those lands were divided up to noble kin and lords. They were always trying to better there futures with more land, even if that included killing your own cousin to get his piece of land. One great example of an intuitive fortress, Caesar had made a donut shaped fortress at one point around a small town; he shut out and was starving the people in the town and then also keeping out the men that were…

CRA-MAR Video Center, Inc. sells electronic equipment and video cassettes, as does its competitor, Koach's Sales Corporation. Both CRA-MAR and Koach's purchased computers from Radio Shack. CRA-MAR used the computer it purchased to store customers lists, movie lists, personnel files, and financial records. Because the computer was new to CRA-MAR, Randlall Youts, Radio Shack's salesman and programmer, agreed to modify CRA-MAR's programs when needed, including the customer list program. At one point, CRA-MAR decided to send a mailing to everyone on its customer list. The computer was unable to perform the fuctionm so Youts took the disks containing the customer list to the Radio Shack store to work on the program. Somehow Koach's came into possession of CRA-MAR's customer lists and sent advertising mailing to the parties on the lists. When CRA-MAR discovered this fact, it sued Koach's,…

What I'm proud about in my computer science class is the Verizon app challenge that I did with my group. I picked this artifact because it taught me some levels of computing and working in a group to create ideas for an app. What me and the group was good at throughout creating and Ideas for this app was creating a scenario video, while our weakness was coming up with the topic ,and editing videos. If we had an additional time our group would make the video more visual and realistic to our topic in this case our setting ,and costume. What I know about the video was that there would be an award, but what I didn't know is that they're selected by category. I have not done any similar work about the Verizon App Challenge because it was a one…

In the Ted Talk, Jeff Iliff describes different ways that our bodies, more specifically our internal organs, secrete waste and how this process differs in the two percent of our bodies that is the brain (2014). Iliff also stresses the importance of learning about healthy sleep patterns by mentioning the fact that we spend nearly one-third of our lives sleeping (2014). Furthermore, the video describes a process that occurs in our brains, in order to secret waste that may be lying between various cells (Iliff, 2014). When we are awake, there is very little cerebrospinal fluid (CFS) flowing through the brain. However, whenever we are sleep, there tends to be an influx of CFS flowing throughout the brain, which is what scientists are calling waste…

The video presentation involving the caseworker, school nurse, and the psychiatrist, discussing possible methods of helping Annie is in my opinion a great video to utilize for an analysis of group communication and diversity styles. The participant of this group consisted of three individuals, one male and two females and their attempts to assist a 17-year-old high school student by the name of Annie. Annie potentially suffers from an eating disorder and a level of depression. These issues were present as being identified through the school's nurse…

The Sarah Bartmaan video today had some very shocking mistreatment of African Americans. I don’t understand how Europeans could justify their actions of treating another human being like that. Also to know that people still went to see her pickled remains for almost a century after her death showed that it was more than one person that contributed to this. People thought that African Americans were a different species and weren’t even human. We can also see this in our society today. I grew up outside the Bronx, and my school was mainly comprised of African American and Hispanic people. My cousins that lived just outside the city in the suburbs, went schools were the population was 90% white. It is almost like our races still keep us separate…

One thing that poped out to me was in the halo effect video was when he was talking about how the media only take a story about Christianity or some other religion when something dramatic happens. Sometimes our world leaders and celebrity feel like they have to apologize for what they believe in. In the second video it talks about how there are many different religions and all of them with different congregations because of this what they do effects the rest of the world. The way they are doing that is because the love of thy name is used in there religion. religion has such a big effect without religion being at least 1.3 trillion dollar business would be gone. This proves that the effect of religion is not intangible but measurable. In the halo effect video emphasize on the fact that people need to understand what faith groups actually do which help and valinteering and not fro themselves but for society. Many people think that if these faith groups or congregation stopped doing charity or valenturing the government…

In the movie “Bernie”, we follow the story and between a Carthage, Texas funeral director Bernie Tiede, and his co-dependent relationship with a wealthy widow, Marjorie Nugent. As “Bernie” unfolds, we see the companionship turn for the worse as Ms. Nugent’s ill-temper causes Bernie to snap – and lands her dead in her freezer. This movie brings up some questions, specifically regarding image. After analysis, the question I keep coming back to is “Was Bernie genuine and sincere? Or was it all a façade?” Although Bernie committed a horrible crime, I believe the answer to this question is “yes”- Bernie was a genuine man.…

The story tells a 17-year-old girl called Mia who loves playing classical cello and is set out to be a nerdy misfit. When the movie begins she is ready to go to school when a snow day is announced on the radio and her and her family decide to go see her grandparents. When they are driving you see a lot of shots of the amount of snow that is laying around, you could feel the disaster coming. A few shots later you hear the sound of slipping tires and you see a truck closing in on them really fast and as expected you hear the bang of the two colliding cars fast after that. The whole movie would have been shot in the hospital if it wasn’t for all the flashbacks about the young love story. First there is a flashback about Mia’s love story with Adam, but after that you see the crash site and you see Mia looking over her own body. Once they arrive at the hospital Mia watches herself get surgery and she watches her family getting more worried and eventually telling her it would be all right if she wanted to move on.…
