Verizon App Challenge: Video Analysis
What I'm proud about in my computer science class is the Verizon app challenge that I did with my group. I picked this artifact because it taught me some levels of computing and working in a group to create ideas for an app. What me and the group was good at throughout creating and Ideas for this app was creating a scenario video, while our weakness was coming up with the topic ,and editing videos. If we had an additional time our group would make the video more visual and realistic to our topic in this case our setting ,and costume. What I know about the video was that there would be an award, but what I didn't know is that they're selected by category. I have not done any similar work about the Verizon App Challenge because it was a one

The Sarah Bartmaan video today had some very shocking mistreatment of African Americans. I don’t understand how Europeans could justify their actions of treating another human being like that. Also to know that people still went to see her pickled remains for almost a century after her death showed that it was more than one person that contributed to this. People thought that African Americans were a different species and weren’t even human. We can also see this in our society today. I grew up outside the Bronx, and my school was mainly comprised of African American and Hispanic people. My cousins that lived just outside the city in the suburbs, went schools were the population was 90% white. It is almost like our races still keep us separate…

CanGo has several projects already started, with new ones being developed; a good staffing strategy is going to be a key element for the near future. We have noticed that there have been some deficiencies in the leadership of CanGo Inc. We have also provided some recommendations for the management team to improve their weaknesses so that the company can continue to stay successful in achieving its goals and launching itself to the online gaming industry.…

Every year, an independent film production company sponsors a short film contest. The contest is open to anyone who wants to participate. Because of new technological advances, two main categories are available: traditional film, with actors, cameras, etc., and digital film, which requires that a person use a computer to do all the film production. Actors can provide the voices, but all visuals must be done using computer animation. There is no restriction for the film topic, but it should be something that could be run as a preview to major film in a theater, be provided on the Internet, or be distributed on small wireless devices, such as cell phones. Therefore, the length of the film should be 2-5 minutes long, and it should be appropriate for an audience under 17 years old. Alex is a senior student in the computer science program at a university, and he is earning a minor in film production. He is very interested in everything related to the digital animation industry. He is determined to participate in this contest and win it. He applied for and was awarded a grant for $5,000 through his college to work on this film project. He could use the money to pay for any special hardware or software that the university could also use. He could also award small stipends ($500 per person) to people who help on the project. Alex knew that he would have to convince several people to donate their time and energy to help him make a great film in time for the contest, just 10 months away. The first-prize winner in each category received $100,000 and the opportunity to participate in a major film contest. There were also prizes of $50,000 and $25,000 for second and third place. Alex really wanted to use his computer and project management skills in the film industry, so even if he didn’t win a prize, he wanted to gain valuable experience to help find a job after graduation.…
