Macbeth Justification
Macbeth
In this production I am acting as Lady Macbeth, she is often portrayed as an ambitious and deceitful woman whose obsessive behaviour for power leads her to her own destruction. In this scene, Act 5 scene 1, Lady Macbeth enters carrying a light unaware of the doctor or the gentlewans presence. I decided to use an old fashion candle as my light and kept my gaze straight ahead in an attempt to capture the gaze of the audience. Throughout this entrance I keep my facial expressions tedious to illustrate her discomfort, how she has become detached of this world. I dull my voice to make it seem as if I am in a hypnotic state, then as Lady Macbeth continues to fidget with her hands I raise my voice to seem as if I am in distress. I changed the tone of my voice to fit the characters emotions as I say “Fei, my lord, fie! A soldier and afeard?” I make my voice almost angry as if I can’t believe he can be afraid when he is a solider and meant to be brave. I continue to end my lines with a guilty voice as I talk about the innocent dead King Duncan. My voice remains unchanged as I talk of the thanes wife who was also murdered. I begin to shake as I look down to my invisible blood stained hands. I have to continue walking, shaking and rubbing my hands while the gentlewoman and doctor quietly talk about my sanity. My character starts to loose herself in her anxiety and cry’s desperately because of her guilt. I continue passing and shaking till my next line were I begin talking to my husband. I change to my voice to a more panicked tone as I try to reassure him that we are safe and cannot be caught because Banquo is dead. I continue to look at my husband till I hear a knocking; I change my facial expression to a worried look. I quicken my speech as I frantically try to lead Macbeth away so we can return to our bed before anyone finds us. I end the scene clinging to my husband’s invisible hand while we hurry to our room.
All together we executed this play very well as we

Macbeth is a play filled with murders and lies, but it is not the murderer who is responsible for the most evil in the play. The main character Macbeth kills two important characters in the play, and is responsible for the death of a third. Macbeth is still only the instrument carrying out these evil actions. Other main characters in the play are the three Weird sisters, or the three witches. They are supernatural creatures that prophesize that Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor and eventually king. They stir Macbeth’s ambition to ascend the throne. Lady Macbeth is Macbeth’s strategic wife that plans the murder of King Duncan. She uses Macbeth’s ambition to acquire more power. Lady Macbeth is responsible for the most evil in the play because she convinces Macbeth to kill the king, and sends Macbeth on a path of destruction.…

In the era of Macbeth, many of the beliefs were based upon fate. It was a major part of the culture and how everything happens for a reason. In this play by Shakespeare, fate is corrupted by the main character Macbeth; this corruption unbalances the universe. Macbeth provides an example of contradicting the beliefs in this time frame, eventually fate restores the kingdom and the universe balances out. “Tragedy, according to Aristotle, involves usually a noble man fighting against his fate which lies in the hands of God” ( Jean-François Vernay. Literary Contexts in Plays: William Shakespeare 's 'Macbeth '). According to this quote by Vernay, it relates to Macbeth and all the other Shakespearean tragedies. In Macbeth, the main character was a noble man in the beginning and does fight against his fate. At first he tries to make his fate come faster and then later Macbeth tries to contradict it. While, it was really planned out for him the whole time. Macbeth is corrupted by power, causing him to make decisions that interfere with fate, in which witches tell Macbeth he is destined to be king; however, Malcolm is the one who is next in line. Macbeth does anything he can to get the crown which leads to chaos in the kingdom. He kills anyone who is in his way which causes the whole creation of unbalance, arrogance and power corrupts his mind, and once Macbeth is killed the kingdom is restored.…

In our wordle we used a white background that represents Lady Macbeths appearance and how society views Lady Macbeth as a woman, innocent as a white dove. We make the words a dark theme along witht the color red for it represents lady Macbeths true nature and the contrast in the colors represent how her character breaks the female sterotypes. The first trait i identified she had is megalomania. The quote I chose for her megalomania personality is: “And fill me from head to toe, top full of direst cruely” (1.5.45-46) This quote shows how Lady Macbeth is willing to give up the gentleness of humankind to achieve to achieve power to make her dream sound more dramatic in terms of de she said desires. She said “ take my milk for gall” (1.5.51) Women’s milk symbolises her feminine personality by saying this , Lady macbet wants the spirits to strip her feminine personality so that she can achieve her desire. These two quotes indicate Lady macbeth’s greed for power even if she has to lose herself to gain more .…

Imagine a nice big cake at a birthday party, and the birthday boy or girl will do anything to get that slice. Power in the tragedy Macbeth by William Shakespeare is like that cake, people are hungry for power and will go out of their wits to gain and or maintain it. Power in Macbeth is gained through violence, betrayal, and of course prophecies. Power is gained through violence because Macbeth murders people so he can have his place in royalty. Betrayal is a way power is gained because Macbeth betrays his closest friend Banquo as well as the King Duncan. And power is maintained as well as gained through the witches prophecies because they all turned out to be true.…

There are many different viewpoints as to who was the real driving force behind Macbeth and his ascent to power. There is the possibility of outside forces, including Lady Macbeth and the witches but also he could be victim to inner desires and ambitions which is the human condition which he could not control. The contrasting viewpoint is that Macbeth is the villain and that he chose to kill Duncan without much persuasion from any outer forces. It was his choice and he made it in a clear mind with the goal of becoming King. It is my opinion that the second statement is false and that Macbeth was a victim to forces out of his control.…

A sad and horrific event happened on December 14, 2012. A gunman by the name of Adam Lanza, shot and killed 26 people, including 20 children and 6 staff, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn, and then killed himself. President Obama commented on this tragedy by vowing to “use whatever power this office holds”, alluding to a start of gun control. At a memorial speech for the 27 victims Obama stated that leaders can no longer stand by idly and let these things happen. “These tragedies must end” is how he put it. His speech seemed significantly promising by his definite action, for a President who did not utilize much political capital during the 3 other shootings of his term. Obama repeatedly states that he will do whatever he can within his power to prevent future events like this from happening.…

As one reads the play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, they could not fail to notice the evolution of the main character, Macbeth, and his tragic fall from a once proud man to the scourge of his kingdom. From the first scene the reader is introduced to protagonist as being an honorable, brave, and loyal military man, who exemplifies what it means to be a general in his king’s army. However, as the play progresses, Macbeth begins to dive deeper into the dark side of human nature and by the end of the play he has transformed into an almost complete opposite of the man the reader was originally presented with. Throughout the play Macbeth is both influenced and tricked by other characters into going against the principals and code that he initially held dear. On the surface many would argue that Macbeth was simply a common villain who attempted to take what he wanted by any means necessary. However, as one takes a closer look into the story it becomes clear that Macbeth should be pitied as a man who lost himself and fell too far into the darkness.…
