Macbeth Argumentative Essay
Macbeth is a murderer with a cold heart, but who pushes him to do these deeds? Along his journey throughout this book, he has had many people who influence his actions. Macbeth has always been a curious and mysterious man, who is a killer and a fighter. He was in many wars and battles where he took other men's lives, without a second thought. Macbeth will not stop to get where he wants to be, and he will push anything out of the way, to make sure that he gets there. The Witches, his wife Lady Macbeth, and his own ambition to become King are what drive Macbeth to become the killer of an innocent man. These few characters are the reason that he took the initiative, to become an ice cold killer.
When Macbeth first encounters the Witches, they inform him of his prophecy to become the Thane of Cawdor, and soon to be King of Scotland. He is also with Banquo, and he is informed that his kids will be kings, but not him. The Witches say to Macbeth, “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis! All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor! All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!” (I.iii.51-53). At first, he becomes shocked and surprised by this, but he soon realizes after being crowned Thane of Cawdor, that this prophecy will most likely come true. A little after Macbeth kills the king, his friend Banquo starts to suspect this about him. He was also there when Macbeth heard about his future and is connecting the dots. Once Macbeth realizes this, he has Banquo killed as soon as possible. Macbeth says, “Banquo, thy soul's flight, If it finds heaven, must find it out to-night.”(III.i.160-163). He is now taking the initiative to remove Banquo from his life, and to relief, the suspicious put upon him. This one was all on Macbeth. He had no influence except his own, and killing Banquo was his own
