After reviewing the results of the survey given to the employees, it became apparent that the degree in which the questions were answered did not yield a clear enough understanding to why so many employees were dissatisfied and left the company. The questions were administered using a survey and handed out along with pay statements to everyone within the study criteria. The survey used was developed to provide data regarding the overall work environment and its affect on the level of satisfaction. The answers were to be measured from employee responses. Unfortunately, the amount of participation needed was not obtained and the survey did not produce useful findings. Some of the information needed was not asked in the survey questions, errors were made when keying the information into the spreadsheet, and the response rate was astonishingly low at 17.3 percent.…

With the challenges of an ageing workforce, a smaller talent pool and growing concerns about competition, successful organizations are introducing different ways to work and gain significant benefits. One of those solutions is “Flexible work arrangement”. According to Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety (2008), flexible work arrangements allow the employees a certain degrees of freedom in deciding how the work will be done and how they will coordinate their schedules with other employees. Flexibility in how and where employees work can have positive impacts on management and employee commitment, as well as business and operational outcomes. For instance, results from a survey conducted by OSAGI on flexible work arrangements in the UN Secretariat, demonstrate that flexible arrangements have led to positive outcomes for both staff and the organization. Survey respondents indicted that as a result of flexible work arrangement they are working more efficiently (69%); they are more satisfied with their job (67%); their motivation has increased (65%); and their desire to stay at the UN is much stronger (64%) (United Nation, 2010).
