I. Introduction
With the challenges of an ageing workforce, a smaller talent pool and growing concerns about competition, successful organizations are introducing different ways to work and gain significant benefits. One of those solutions is “Flexible work arrangement”. According to Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety (2008), flexible work arrangements allow the employees a certain degrees of freedom in deciding how the work will be done and how they will coordinate their schedules with other employees. Flexibility in how and where employees work can have positive impacts on management and employee commitment, as well as business and operational outcomes. For instance, results from a survey conducted by OSAGI on flexible work arrangements in the UN Secretariat, demonstrate that flexible arrangements have led to positive outcomes for both staff and the organization. Survey respondents indicted that as a result of flexible work arrangement they are working more efficiently (69%); they are more satisfied with their job (67%); their motivation has increased (65%); and their desire to stay at the UN is much stronger (64%) (United Nation, 2010). Alternative work arrangements programs or guarantee employee participation in established programs, implementation and usage of alternative work arrangements programs depends upon management support and leadership. Alternative work arrangements can generate beneficial outcomes, particularly for employers, such as “increased employee retention, loyalty and morale; higher productivity; improved recruiting of highly qualified workers; decreased employee tardiness and unscheduled absences; and maximum used of facilities and equipment.     The term flexible working means Flexible working' is a phrase that describes any working pattern adapted to suit workers needs. Flexibility is the The ability of an organisation to adapt the size, composition, responsiveness and cost of the people inputs required to achieve organisational objectives (Pilbeam and Corbridge, 2010). There are different forms of flexibility which are numerical flexibility, functional flexibility, financial flexibility, locational flexibility and temporal flexibility. Numerical flexibility is where employers can change the size of their workforce as their labour requirements change. Functional flexibility is the ability of an organization to move employees to other duties or responsibilities within the company. Locational flexibility is that employees can work from home instead of coming to the office.
