How FFA Changed My Life
Year after year, I walk through the Fort Worth Stock Show areas such as holding pins, arenas, and the fairgrounds. Through the journeys, I gain an appreciation for all the hard work and dedication that these people have put into the fair and how it is changing people's lives. Going back to freshman year, like it was yesterday, I remember how I did not want to be a part of FFA and was forced to take an agriculture class. What I didn't realize was how wrong I was about agriculture classes and FFA. After the second day, I quickly immersed myself in FFA after seeing all it offered to me. FFA pulled me out of my comfort zone into an arena where I have become a strong leader through my experiences. I now stand boldly to reach my goals because FFA has given me the tools to succeed in every challenge I face. I have taken advantage of every opportunity for leadership training, have grown with each competition whether I went to State or did not place where I hoped. For the rest of my life I will continue to hold in my heart the values FFA has taught me. Now I know that FFA does not directly relate to the Forth Worth Stock Show, but for me it is what started my career and passion for agriculture, leadership, and developing connections with others. Furthermore, The Fort Worth Stock Show have represented another stepping stone in my life to continue to develop the skills and appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication, because the small things change people the most. This year I had the opportunity to work at the FFA Children’s Barnyard and I have to say what an incredible experience that was. During this time, I assisted in watching the animals and the most important part discuss with the children and adults that came through the barnyard about agriculture, the individual animals, and the opportunities in
