Ffa Chapter Officers
“Why I want to be a Chapter Officer”
Throughout life, we make choices, choices that define who we are as individuals. One choice that has really influenced my life was the choice to join FFA. I feel, as an FFA member, that FFA provides students with the opportunity to actually do something with their life. FFA gives you the chance to inspire others, learn essential leadership skills, and it also presents you with a positive image in your life. FFA is something you almost just cannot live without! I have been in FFA for just one year now, but FFA has already made me want to inspire others just as they have inspired me. Although they may not have realized it, this year I looked up to some of our chapter officers. It was inspiring to know that when I needed their help or motivation they were always there for me, and I hope that someday someone will be able to look up to me like I have looked up to them. I hope I can inspire the in-coming freshmen to be active in FFA because in FFA you learn so many different things and they are all very beneficial to you. While I have been in FFA I have gained more leadership skills than I thought possible. I was president on my chapters opening and closing ceremonies team so I had to step up and be my fellow member’s leader. I had to make sure everyone was there for practice, we were always on topic, and that we were prepared for the contest. Before I joined FFA one of my greatest fears was public speaking, but I overcame that fear through a little hard work and determination and became our chapter’s creed speaker. Doing this career development event really helped me because I gained confidence in myself, leadership skills, and I even went on to place 5th in West Tennessee. It is pretty common to hear someone say: “Think Positive!” to someone who is feeling down or is worried, but most people don’t actually take these words seriously. When I look back at the times where I am the most positive I am always in my blue

Leadership is a lifestyle, not a role one adopts. Leadership requires strength and power, but also the ability to empathize and recognize others' needs. As a high school student, I have had many opportunities to be a leader, whether it be through clubs, group projects, or extracurricular activities. During my Junior year, I assistant directed the play Steel Magnolias under the eye of my drama teacher as well as a college student director. This role allowed me to learn the ropes of directing as well as take care of the six girls cast in the show. I adapted the role of the "stage mom," making sure every hair was curled to perfection and every prop was in its place, as well as ensuring their lines were memorized and their staging was proper. I…

One moment I had that I will never forget is when my friend Libby Bridges who is another teen in PFO, was sharing HER impactful moment to the leadership team. I was sitting there and listening to her talk about how she used to be afraid that she will never make an impact on the world. Libby is a person that I really look up to in PFO. She shows impeccable leadership skills and she has the kindest heart. To hear her talk about her fears and watching her be so vulnerable makes me start to cry. In this moment I realized how surrounded by love I was, and how grateful I was for the opportunity PFO has given me. PFO has given me the chance to make beautiful connections and bonds that I wouldn't trade for anything.…

FFA is something that I love. I have been in a leadership position for the last three years as a class officer, Washington County Junior Livestock Association officer and FFA officer. I believe my purpose in life is to serve others. Leaders must serve the needs of others rather than their own desires. One reason I wish to run for district office is to serve the FFA and its members. Agriculture is the backbone of our country. FFA and Agricutlure offer the opportunity to serve others. In every thing I do I make sure that the job is done correctly amd thoroughly. If you choose me to hold an officer position I promise I will not let you down. You may ask,"Why choose you over someone else?" I will work to the best of my ability and do all…

Rodolfo Costa once said; “Cultivate an optimistic mind, use your imagination, always consider alternatives, and dare to believe that you can make possible what others think is impossible” (Goodreads). Remaining positive has always held an important role in my life. I strive to find positives in every negative situation, and remember that I can always learn something from it. Sometimes changing the way you view a situation can make all the difference. Even through times where I have had every reason to give up, I have chosen to keep a positive attitude. I have found that when I decide to do this, it makes me significantly happier, and I take much more away from the situation.…

FFA develops competent and assertive agricultural leadership. Premier leadership can be obtained through many activities hosted by the FFA. One way in particular, is by attending one of the leadership and growth conferences. During these conferences members go to workshops where they learn how to become better leaders, to make a difference, and to be successful throughout life. These are very fun and beneficial conferences that all members should take advantage of. FFA members are more likely to be employed than the average high school student (National FFA Organization 4). When local FFA advisor, Matt Petrowitz, was asked what FFA meant to him, he said, “FFA to me means an organization where everyone belongs and is about leadership and tradition” (Petrowitz). He is proof that premier leadership is gained through FFA…

This was a highlight of my FFA career, and I now strive to earn my American FFA degree. I have also served as my chapter’s Vice President and President. As a member of the officer team I have organized fundraisers, planned the chapter banquet, and FFA week activities. My job with the fundraisers included helping unload and organize the fruit when it arrives and to assist with selling tractor raffle tickets at basketball games.…

Most people cannot simply join an organization and learn to lead it without any assistance, especially if they have had little to no interest concerning it in the past. Unfortunately, I learned this while serving in my local Future Farmers of America chapter. For the past four years - three of which I have been an officer - we have had a different volunteer advisor for each new school year, and it became obvious why there were so many turnovers. How much better would it have been if the upper class students with experience in the FFA had shown the leadership they pride themselves on, and attempted to show the volunteers the inner workings of the group? Fortunately, my team took this initiative recently to institute a more thorough interview process, and to double our efforts to make ourselves available to the…

All throughout school I have participated in many clubs and organizations that have not only molded me as a person, but have helped me to develop responsibility, and leadership skills. Currently I am an active member of National Honor Society, and DECA. Both of these organizations, provided by my high school, encourage leadership, volunteer work, and have high expectations for behavior, and grades. Being in National Honor Society has shown me to continually do for others in need. There are always opportunities to get involved with the community, and even create drives for things like stuffed animals, and blankets for children who are sick in the hospital, and “Care Catties” for cancer patients, which include tissues, water bottles, hard candy, and lotion. DECA is another organization I am involved in at Frenship High School. DECA is a business organization for high school marketing students looking to learn, develop and compete in a competitive event. I have been a member since my sophomore…

Living in a small town, there are not a lot of people that have made an impact on my life. In 2008, my mom told me that I should join paramedic explorers but I found fire explorers and thought it would be more interesting. A couple Mondays later, I got the hang of it and I was really happy. Being in this explorer post helped my grades and I met new people through my academies and musters. Musters are gatherings of Explorer post throughout Southern California. We do bucket brigades and much more activities with hoses and water. Being in Fire Explorers showed me integrity, dedication, and self sacrifice. Firefighters made an impact on my life and showed me what it takes to be a hero.…
