Why Join Ffa
“You should join FFA”, this was my first experience with an FFA member. Once I joined the organization, it became a part of me, it changed my outlook on life, my career, and my mental mindset.
The FFA organization has a motto, it reads “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve”, this motto has given me a new perspective of life. At the current point in my life, I am “Learning to Do”. I am in school learning valuable knowledge that I will need later on in my life. Once I get a job I will then transfer to the “Doing to Learn”. As I am an active member of the Seneca East FFA chapter, I strive to live and work by the National FFA Organization’s motto: “Living to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve.” I interpret this motto simply: with every new project, you must accomplish it with a purpose. When I engage in a community service project, I have the mindset to put my whole heart in it, making the most out of the experience. Through the values and ethics I have attained through FFA, I will continue to serve my community and world with my whole heart throughout my life. If I were selected to receive the Samsung American Legion Scholarship, I would use the money to further my education focusing in the subject of Agriculture. This scholarship would inspire…

On the day of June 12, 2005 at the University of Stanford, a speech was given by one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time, Steve Jobs. His words were truly inspiring and very effective at what he was trying to convey. And that was to pursue the dream or goal that you would want to achieve, and to silence those who say you can’t or it’s not possible. He had very much to say, but was it all necessary. That leaves you to decide.…

I am already involved in mostly all FFA activities and I am willing to do more. I am very dedicated to FFA and the program. Agriculture is my life and future and FFA is helping me expand my talents in many areas. I have also learned that education is the key to life because what you do now will affect how you live your life down the road. If you apply yourself , put your mind to it and do what is right and be respectful it will take you a long way in life. Having a free education is a blessing and you shouldn't take advantage of it, meaning you shouldn’t slack off because you are not necessarily losing money at the moment . Some people don't have the opportunity to have a free education and plan their life out completely sometimes "when life give you lemons make lemonade". When life isn't looking so great don't give up just make the best out of what you have. Being in Roanoke Valley Early College has made me apply myself more and really open my eyes more to see bigger and better things and don't settle for less just because things may be hard or seems as if everyone else aren’t handling their business. Th has also learned me in my life to recognize the things that are really a priority in my life and don't focus on things that are aren't…

The key to a student’s success is the quality of their classroom teacher. I believe that in spite of any external obstacles (chaotic/troublesome home life, administrative incompetence, access to services, etc.) a quality teacher can positively impact a student’s life more profoundly than almost any other influence. I believe that Teach for America (TFA) cultivates, develops, and supports the type of teachers who can have this kind of impact. I seek to join TFA for this very reason; I want to positively impact students by providing a high quality experience in the classroom.…
