Explain Why Students Should Not Take Art Classes
What classes should students take in order to graduate? Some say students should be required to take a music, drama, or an art class. Such classes would be better off as electives. These classes should be electives, not required because they provide no value, they are talents, could be used for better classes. These classes should not be required for students to graduate because they provide no value if they are forced to take them. If a student has no interest in these art classes then they will not care about the class, leading to them not retaining any information after finishing with the class. If it was an elective then students will choose the class based on interest and actually use the skills they learned in class. Such classes like music, drama or art are talents which is another reason they should be electives. If a student is already skilled at one of those classes then requiring them to take the class is not necessary. Also the talented students would have an advantage on other students that know nothing about what they are taking. Since the student would probably know most of the information they either wouldn't put forth the effort or finish assignments before the teacher is done teaching.

This also affects people that go to trade schools outside of their home school because those take up two blocks and now the student might not be able to take another year. Or the student doesn't have a block open for the class they actually wanted to take. Music, Drama, and Art classes should not be required, but should be electives.
