Why You Should Stick To Arts
Since I was a little girl, I've been constantly compared to others and never been able to voice an opinion. Constantly hearing "you should stick to arts and crafts" or "boys are smarter than girls", made me question my abilities. It made me think that I had to know everything in order for someone to listen to me. My mom would say "do whatever you like do, yet show the world that you are brilliant in that". I made it my mission to never give up and to create a better future for myself. I threw myself into my studies and join all different kinds of programs in order to find what I passionate about. Now I have discovered my love of physical therapy, not only do I want to join that career but I want to have a balanced mindset and be continuously …show more content…
I was in the Color guard program and sports medicine. It taught me life long lessons about being dedicated and how to collaborate effectively with others. Through brutal practices and stressful competitions I rose to the top, knowing that if I believed I did the best that I could have every single time. Yet, these program taught me information on the human body while working. I also am a part of outside Culinary Art activities such as catering events to learn things such as budgeting and organization, that I may use to later in life to be more efficient with things such as money. Its like having a job, you may not be getting paid money, but you're paid in experience that will be seen as work effort to others who need a good employee. Even though I sacrificed most of my time into these programs I still took time out to relax and reflect on my choices and create a balance mindset between who I am and what I want to be and grow from that to improve my weaknesses and exhibit my strengths. I create daily goals to achieve this mindset so that i'm never left lost about my identity. My future is bright and waiting for the taking. I will be continuing my education to becoming a physical therapist by taking more classes based on the anatomy of the human body and the injuries that follow it such as Sports Medicine. Throughout this process called life, I've begun to feel more passionate about everything I do and how I will make decisions in the future. I want to be in control of my life, and try to make it the best it can be. In order to reach my goals I will continue to push myself until I achieve and never stop believing in

State officials and the Board of Education have long debated on what classes should be required to graduate. Economics and Personal Finance is one of the few classes that have recently become a required course. Some officials suggest that fine arts classes such as music, drama, or art should be required classes rather than electives. I disagree with the suggestion because many students do not have the space, it restricts students the freedom to explore, and some schools would not be able to fit students into the classes.…

I managed to balance color guard, a full schedule of high school classes and on top of that, college classes. Because of this, I learned how to be a reliable person.…

My mom always told me that “It’s not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.” So what makes people happy, what helps them enjoy life? Becoming an artist’s means different things to different people, you can become a painter, a dancer, a musician, a designer, an actor and so much more. Being an artist means following your heart and not listing to criticism from others. It’s what makes us who we are; it makes us comfortable, brings us peace during hard times and can put a smile on our face during a dark day. There are no limitations on what becoming an artist means. There is no book or law telling us what we have to become, or what we have to do with our lives. Express yourself, don’t be afraid to go wild and do things that others may think are crazy. We all have an artist inside of us, yes we may be afraid to show that side, yet it is important that we do because it will bring us true happiness and may bring happiness to others.…

I’m often asked the question: “What do you want to do in college?” or “What do you want to do after college?” and these often weary questions always lead back to the one question that I truly struggle with: Where do I see myself in the future?
