My aim is to evaluate about how different cases could affect an organisation as well as discuss and explore the legislation around equality and diversity. I also aim to discuss the potential consequences for businesses breaching the legislation and how this could have been prevented. I have researched around different cases that have reached the media and aim to analyse this and discuss each side of it. On top of this I aim to pull on my pre-existing knowledge of Equality and Diversity within the workplace as well as attempt to expand and strengthen my understanding.

To start it needs to be discussed about what equality, diversity and inclusion actually mean. Equality itself means being an equal, whether that is around your status, rights or opportunities. It means, for example, if you had something that made you different from somebody else you would not be treated any differently and you would still have the same

From an employee perspective, I enjoy working with a diverse age group. It is wonderful to have the knowledge and experience of the older employees, and it is intriguing to see the technology capabilities of the younger generations. However, since I fall in the ending years of the Baby Boomers, I often find myself caught in the middle concerning opinions and expectations. My group of teammates consists of a supervisor who is twelve years younger than me, a co-worker who is ten years older than me, and a co-worker who is 18 years younger than me. We work great as a team, and we are able to share our abilities and strengths with one another. One adjustment that I have been faced with is to view e-mails as a means of communication rather than face-to-face conversations, but I am working through this transition. For me, the diversity has been a very good experience, and I can foresee great opportunities by blending groups of employees.…
