I believe that the Presidential Election of 2000 was illegitimate. The reason is because there were 175,000 declared uncountable ballots that were either dimpled or hanging Chads (1). Additionally, if these votes were hand counted, I believe that Al Gore would have been ahead and would have won the state of Florida. Additionally, the state of Florida had a purge list of 20,000 US citizens that were unable to vote (1). For example, if a Florida citizen had the same name as a convicted felon, and/or initials, the list captured their name and automatically placed it on the purge list. Because of this list, many people were turned away at the polls on election day. In the state of Florida, there are 67 counties and 18 of those counties chose…

The presidential candidates for the libertarian party were Gary Johnson and his vice presidential candidate James Gary. America’s gift to my generation and many generations before me are many things. The main gifts that I appreciate are freedom, safety, and welfare. Most people have been sharing opinions with me about other Americans kneeling during the pledge of allegiance or the national anthem. I do not believe that kneeling is appropriate or respectful. It is disrespectful to those who fight for our freedom. The reason those people have the freedom to kneel is because of the outstanding men and women who are brave enough to fight. The fact that they have the freedom to disrespect our country is actually amazing. Even though the amount of disrespect they are showing is not appreciated, I would fight for them to be able…

America’s gift to my generation, in my opinion this phrase does not begin to thank everyone in our great country for what they have done. For all the men and women that went oversea and fought for our freedom. For the people that don’t only do what is expected but give another 200%. For all of the men and women that have given their lives for our country. For all of you a gift is a huge understatement and you all deserve much more than just this essay as a thanks, but at least I hope these essays give you joy and happiness.…

With Bernie sanders campaign coming to an abrupt end for the democratically pyrrhic victory of Hilary Clinton, our nation faces a torrid commencement of a future of financial gridlock, consistently confounded abilities of negligence to we the people, and a final drop of the hatchet and permanent dismemberment of what used to be the American dream as they continue to feed further in the lie that the lower class deserves to be there, the middle class is getting poorer and the rich getting richer and therefore those who refute their oversimplified version of “the truth” must be lazy, poor, incompetent, or just plain out stupid. Essentially, what made America great, is dead. In this upcoming election we have two options. A vindictive con-man, seeking vengeance from a civilization that never did him wrong. He was born into wealth, and as a result he shall live out his days in wealth, never being able to comprehend the…

John Quincy Adams once said, “ You will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it.” Police, Firefighters, teachers, military, and veterans...what do they all have in common? They help and protect us and our rights. They help us in our everyday lives; teachers teach us so we can go to college. People in other countries don’t have the chance to be able to go to college and pick the job they want. Sometimes before they are born, the government already has a job that they are going to do when they are old enough. The gift America has given to our generation is the freedom and education that we are fortunate to have.…
