As Joe Barton once said, “Our flag honors those who have fought to protect it, and is a reminder of the sacrifice of our nation’s founders heros.” Our flag is not to be knelt upon, but to stand as one together, remembering how Veterans risked their lives everyday to go to war and give us freedom today. The least we can do is to thank you. You gave me a future, freedom of speech, and an education, and so many more things.…
America has given my generation, many gifts including, keeping us safe. First, the military defend my country from our enemies. Second, many men and women that have come together served in wars and saved my country. Lastly, the military has helped us by sacrificing their lives for ours, defending rights and freedom, and sheltering us.…
America’s Gift to my Generation is that we can walk out of our houses and not be afraid to die at any second. In some countries, people have to live their life in constant fear of dying.…
America’s Gift to My Generation John Quincy Adams once said, “You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.” I believe what he is trying to explain is that our freedom’s price was far too costly for it not to be taken advantage of. His quote provided a sufficient amount of evidence for me to prove that freedom is a very generous gift from America.…
Do you know when our national anthem first came to be the official anthem of the United States of America? The anthem was written by Francis Scott Key and became the official American anthem on March 3, 1931. America's gift to my generation is freedom of expression. Freedom of expression means we have the right to express our opinions in many ways. Currently, the professional football players of our nation seem to be using their freedom of expression to, in my opinion, disgrace our country's anthem.…
I would like everybody to stop and think why after all these years, we have to stop or give someone the right not to say the Pledge of Allegiance in school. The flag to me represents everything we have fought for as a nation. The flag is the American spirit which has given us our freedom and also the right to freedom of speech, the first amendment.…
America has given me so much, and those gifts are taken for granted all the time. So many people are hurting. And we have it so much better than some countries. In truth, other people are in need of help. Our country can meet those needs. We have more capability to give to others in than most countries.…
While those lousy seventh graders are worrying about what North Korea is doing our generation is more worried about our science test. America’s Gift To My Generation. Everybody at a time in the lives needs a helping hand. People in America act so well to each other and protect each other so well. America's best gift to my generation is how compassionate we are for each other.…
One right we get is the right to education. This is a gift because if we did not have a right to education we would not be able to do as much good in the world. Getting a right to education is essential, which is why I think the U.S gives children the right to education. This right also gives all children a chance to learn and do great things.…
To be American it means much more than just Sunday Night Football and relishing fast food. It means that one has certain rights, rights one cannot be deprived of. Being American means one has the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. One has the right to practice their religion no matter what it is. This allows Americans to live a life without being forced to conform to a single religion. That is part of the reason that each American has a diverse background. Another privilege that Americans have is the right to an education. People in other countries are not given an education causing them to be illiterate. This right allows one to prosper in life when one becomes older. Liberty is the state or condition of people who are able…
Welcome to the ball game where the batters hit, the pitchers stretch and the crowd is full of hotdogs and pretzels, then someone comes out sings the “Star Spangled Banner,” every one stands and puts everything down and their hand goes over their hearts, and then the everyone recites the Pledge of Allegiance. The importance of the Pledge of Allegiance has always been unnoticed by the younger generations of children who do not recite it everyday. When we were in grade school we recited it every day of the week and I take pride in the pledge that shows true patriotism and Americanism. Americanism, what is it? Someone on the street might say, “Well it might be being caring and nice to others, or helping someone in need.” Whenever I think of Americanism I think about the Pledge of Allegiance.…
whatever you desire to do and want to be. There are people who sneak across the border to be an american, Because we have privileges that we are capable to do that they can’t.…
In 2004, my family and I decided to move to America because my parents believed that my older and I would have a better life in America. When my parents moved to America they both began to work two jobs so they would be able to provide for my brother and I. After a few years, my mother quit one of her job because she gotten ill, but is still working as a produce clerk, while my father is still working his two jobs. My brother also tried his best to help out my parents and so at the age of 14 he began to work in many places so he could help my parents with their bills. I believed that by applying to Hofstra I could help show my parents and brother that their sacrifices were worth it and with the knowledge and experiences I would get from Hofstra…
Until I stand on the land of the Unities States, I got the information of the USA by only watching its movies and TV shows. Then I realize that something is the same, naturally, while some other things are not.…
