I am going to be working for the ASPCA (which means, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. On this paper, I will show the budget that I found for this year which June 30, 2013. This report came from the Animal Humane Society and it is an annual report.

The ASPCA rescues animals that are abused by their owners and find them a special home that they can live out their lives. The very first Humane Society that has been given the authority to investigate and make legal arrests, for any crimes against animals by humans. They have and can provide the local, national leadership that will help parent the animal with the right owner through deep investigation. I know this because they did a background check on me, when I started over at the animal pound here in North Platte, Nebraska. They help inform people that vicious animals are not that way; it is just the way that they are raised. Rottweiler’s and pitbulls are some of the vicious animals that they are talking about. I have had both and neither one of them were bad animals. These dogs are not at risk animals, but just misunderstood, because they have been labeled that they are bad animals.     PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), the largest animal rights organization in the world, had a PETA investigator work for a puppy mill farm, Nielsen Farms, located in Kansas. While working there, the investigator noticed that the animals had little to no protection from harsh weather conditions, and major health problems like ear infections and abscessed feet from the wired cages were ignored or improperly treated.9 In the report, the investigator mentions that his coworker found a dead dog, and the dog was not removed from its cage for days. The investigator also mentions, “The trough that collects the waste from the cages gives off an incredibly rotten smell, since it is merely rinsed with cold water and there is a large buildup of encrusted hair and feces.” 9As these conditions were unsanitary and by no doubt required USDA intervention, the investigator notes that the USDA’s “visits [were] infrequent and usually announced ahead of time.”9 When the USDA investigator arrived on the scene, “the investigator glanced at the cages but did not examine the dogs” and the case was not reported.9 Devastated, the PETA investigator took matters into his own hands and had arranged for PETA officials to further investigate.     According to dosomething.org “Each year, thousands of young and healthy Greyhounds are killed because they lack racing potential or have been injured while racing and are no longer competitive” (11 facts about animal cruelty). Sounds terrible, right? Well, there is an organization called the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or ASPCA for short, that helps fight against that type of animal cruelty. The ASPCA was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 (About the). Also, the ASPCA was also the first humane society to be established in North America and is also one of the largest humane societies. The ASPCA has authority to investigate and make arrests for animal cruelty. This organization would be a perfect place for someone to donate money to if they are looking to help out a charity. I believe that this is the perfect organization to donate to because they are always fighting against animal cruelty, such as violence, they help to stop puppy mills and they also fight to make animal testing illegal.
