TITLE: THE FACTORS INFLUENCE STUDENTS CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE (CGPA)
1.0 ABSRACT
Our research about the factors influences students Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The factors are gender, financial status, education level of parents and study time, which influence student’s Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). This research is based on 30 respondents from University Tenaga Nasional which are from several courses, from Accounting, Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, and Entrepreneur Development.
Apart from that, our independent variable is Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and our dependent variables are gender, financial status, education level of parents and study time. Besides that, we have included regression analysis. In the regression analysis, there is a relationship between dependent variable and independent variables. It is proven by the SPSS that these factors will influence students Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
2.0 INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE RESEARCH
Students are main assets of Universities. The students performance which academic achievement plays an important role in producing the best quality graduates who will become great leader and manpower for the country, thus responsible for the country’s economic and social development. The performance of students in Universities should be a concern not only to the administrators and educators, but also to corporations in the labor market.
