Miami Heat Basketball
Why I Chose My Topic Ever since I was young I’ve always loved basketball. It started when I was young and I used to always watch my older brothers play in the driveway. I always wished I could play with them but they always said I was too young. Nevertheless, I was still persistent and practiced my game everyday. All the time I was looking up to my favorite player Lebron James. I would watch his highlights on YouTube and try to mimic his moves exactly. If he did a through the leg stepback I would go right outside and try it. Whatever team he went to that was always one team that I cheered for. When he joined the Miami Heat I knew I would fall in love with that team.
What I Already Know I know that before Lebron joined the team it was Dwayne Wade was the leader. They won the championship in 2006 with only Wade as the superstar. He averaged 34.7 points per game, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game. Their coach is Eric Spoelstra. He currently holds the 2nd highest points per game in the finals in front of great players such as Michael Jordan and Tim Duncan. With good coaching and dedication from the players this team could go a long way.
What I Want to Find Out
I want to find out why the Heat gets so much criticism from fellow teams and NBA fans. They are just like any other team with talented players, but for some reason people dislike Lebron James and Dwayne Wade being on the same team. I also want to find out how many championships they will win before their careers end. I am personally predicting three but it would be great to know for sure. I want to know how strong “The Big Three’s” bond will become on the court. Will they have one superstar nights? Will one superstar start receiving less touches and become an under rated player? Hopefully everything will go as planned. The Big Three will all have points in the double digits every game. Assists will be

The three names that pop out to me are Derrick Rose, Rajon Rondo and Brandon Jennings are on one to two year contracts and could be on the block around deadline time. Rose and Jennings are playing to prove their worth in the league and may be interested in a winning situation with Los Angeles. Rondo would be the most compelling only because of the strong relationship and respect he has for his former coach with the Boston Celtics Doc Rivers. The reunion between the coach and player champions could be what Rondo needs to stay happy and productive.…

I have been playing basketball basically my whole life, it is has shaped me into the person I am today. I started with just a ball and a hoop in my cousins front yard. I would just chuck the ball at hoop for fun, horsing around with my cousins. In elementary and middle school I would play with my friends at recess shooting around, dribbling in circles for the fun of it. I was even better then most of the boys who would play with my group on the courts. When I entered high school that was when I realized I was truly in love with the game. High school was where it was taken to a whole 'nother level. I was introduced to the real dynamics of the sport, it was where I learned that if I really want to do something that I love I had to put my all into it. I had to prove that I was one-hundred percent committed to the game. Practicing everyday for two hours, and…

Through the generations there have been many great athletes who have played in the NBA such as: Bill Russell who is considered to be one of the all-time great Boston Celtics. In the 2003-2004 NBA draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected the number one prospect in the country. LeBron James drafted directly out of St. Vincent- St. Mary High School, was the best pick that year. In his debut season with the Cavs he blew up and shocked the world when he ended it averaging 27pts, 5rbds, and 4st. not many NBA players can say they have caused this type of havoc in league. The Cavs went from one of the worst teams in the NBA to a playoff contender, and would soon have their chance at winning a world championship. The only time the new-look Cavs didn’t make playoffs was LeBron’s first two seasons with the team. During the seven year drought with this team they lost twice in their only finals appearances, to the Boston Celtics and the Orlando Magic. Although, Lebron James is young in the league of NBA basketball, he has the ability to shutdown most all-star veterans. Lebron’s attitude towards basketball hasn’t changed a bit from his high school career. Even though he is in the pros, his mentality is still teamwork. In a game like basketball you can’t do everything by yourself. Many may think he is a one man team or a ball hog but, his attitude towards the game makes himself stand out. On the other hand, Kobe Bryant has had a few more years of experience than Lebron James. In the beginning of his basketball career his attitude was similar to that of Lebron James’ current one. LeBron was one of the best players around, but he had to go to college for a year before he could be eligible for the draft. LeBron’s life goal was to become the best basketball player in the world. That never happened. LeBron James suffered from a severe leg injury midway through his college season January 15, 2004. LeBron was never able to play the game he loved at the professional level. He now works at a bank and cashes checks for a living. This could be a reality that we would have to face today. In fact, though it is obvious that this story is not real, it is based off of a real player’s life. Tyrone Prothro was destined to be the next hall of fame NFL player, but he got injured in college before he could make it to the pros and now works at a bank, cashing checks for a living (Travis).
