Although the Lakers and Clippers share some common traits, they also are completely different. Both teams are located in L.A., and they are in the same division when it comes the standings. The Lakers and Clippers also play at the Staples Center, so for most people, they are basically the same team. This generalization, however, is completely wrong. The Clippers were founded in 1970, in Buffalo, New York. The Clippers

The Lakers originated in Minneapolis, in 1947. Their first years were extremely successful because the Lakers completely dominated the NBA. They won five championships in the first couple of years, and won plenty more in the late 1900’s. In those years, the Lakers had acquired the best point guard of all time, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and the best center of all time, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. This dynamic duo along with many other amazing players, called the “Showtime Lakers,” won the Lakers organization multiple championships, and established the Lakers as the greatest team ever. The current Lakers are not as dominant, but they now have a multitude of young players that will develop into NBA stars. These players, such as Brandon Ingram and D’Angelo Russell, keep Lakers fans hopeful for a great future. The Lakers have also hired a new coach, Luke Walton. Today, the Lakers hold numerous records that may never be broken, and have won sixteen championships (second most championships ever), as opposed the Clippers not winning

Earvin Johnson Jr. was born on August 14, 1959, in Lansing, Michigan, Magic Johnson dominated the court as one of America's best basketball players for 12 years. If there was one aspect of Johnson's game that awed people the most, it was his brilliant passing skills. He dazzled fans and dumbfounded opponents with no-look passes off the fast-break, pinpoint alley-oops from half-court, spinning feeds and overhand bullets under the basket through triple teams. When defenders expected him to pass, he shot. When they expected him to shoot, he passed. Johnson did all of this while maintaining a childlike enthusiasm born of a pure love of sport and competition. Beyond all the money, success and fame, Johnson was just happy to be playing basketball. He retired from the LA Lakers in 1991 after revealing that he had the AIDS virus. He has since then built up a business empire called Magic Johnson Enterprises, which includes real estate holdings, several Starbucks franchises, and movie theaters. Magic Johnson is also a proud part-owner of the Las Angles Dodgers. He signed his contract with the Dodgers before the 2012 season has started and he seems very excited to help this…
