A Happy Occasion
A Happy Occasion
The most memorable and happiest occasion of my life is the day of my H.S.C. (Higher Secondary School Certificate) result. The day was August 26, 2011. From the very beginning of that day I was very nervous and excited about my result. My parents, my brother and all other family members were also very excited about my result. As I was very nervous I prayed a lot on that day. I want to get my result to my college with my mom and my brother. I was registered to the website of Bangladesh Education Board to get my result earlier. When we all were waiting for our result in front of our auditorium I got a text message from the education board and it was my result and I got GPA 5.00 which is the highest grade of secondary level. As I had not seen my result directly I could not believe that, so I was waiting for the publication of result from our college. About 2 o’clock we all got our result. I was very happy and speechless. I ran to my mom to inform her about my brilliant success in H.S.C. exam. She was very happy to hear that. Then she informed all of our near and dear family members about my result. Everyone congratulated me. Many of my close friends also got GPA 5.00. We all celebrated the day and enjoyed a lot. It was a happy occasion to me but not for one of my dearest friend who did not get GPA 5.00. He was very upset. I consoled him and also supported him. When I went home everyone welcomed me warmly and celebrated the day. It was a nice get together. I will never forget the

Life was not always easy for me, it gave me challenges, circumstances which were really hard for me to digest. But I somehow completed those challenges and tackled those circumstances. My family always supported me and helped me to meet my goals. I was in a town of the World’s seventh largest country, India, where people care about each other, they feel for each other. This was the time when I was in middle school, I was a moderate student in the class, so in exam days, me and my friends used to do sleep overs at my home and we all used to study together. We did everything together, we played together, we learned everything together, I was enjoying that time a lot. But I was constantly frightened of one thing in my lifetime; “never…

One day my family moved resident to new town. I had to start grade 2 at new school as well. The new school was quite small. There were only pupils not more than 200 ones. Although it was not the best school in that area, it is the terrific thing I had gotten in that time. The beginning of first semester studying life was still normally. I could not get along well with other students. I was good at solving the mathematics problems. No doubt, I were crowned with my friends as well as I was an instructor. I taught them how to solve it. I got wonderful friendship in return. I went back home and told this story to my grandmother. Unexpectedly, she suggested that if my friends asked me again, I should ask them to consult with teacher. I followed this advice seriously.…

    Personal Anecdote

It was the last month of July, a couple of weeks before my middle school years ended. I was very anxious because of the idea of leaving my school where I was comfortable with everyone, where my circle of friends were what I looked most forward to when coming to school every day. The day I was going to graduate came closer and closer, I hated how the time was ticking by so fast when I didn’t want it to. I had spent the last 2 years with the same class and teacher, my class mates were like brothers of mine. After all, it was the last time I was going to see my friends Raghav and Karanbir. Weeks flew by as fast as the wings of a humming bird; it was only a few days before the big day, graduation day. As expected the day had arrived, on my way to the banquet hall I felt my head filling up with bizarre scenarios of how it would be like in high school with new teachers, older people and new faces from different school. When I got out of the car I made my way through the main foyer, the banquet hall was decorated so distinctively, I felt as if I were a boy down the hall way of the Queen’s castle ready to be awarded as a Knight. As names were being called to step forward towards the stage, I heard the principal call out “Shreelesh Kaliraj” and I got up with great pride and walked cautiously bit by bit towards her. When she handed me the certificate I was as proud as a father who had just seen his child walk for the very first time. The certificate was 8x10 inches made from stiff hard paper; it had my name written in clear bold letters in the middle of the certificate with a shiny elegant sticker right beside. I quickly walked back to my seat knowing this was the last time I was going to see my close friends, at first I was feeling down due to the fact after this day we would all go separate ways to shape our future but I couldn’t let that thought ruin the entire day for me because at the end I knew meeting new people and making new friends was part of…

It was the last day of school, I was happy so were fellow class mates. This day was going to be the best day and the six weeks that we were given of from school. As the time got closer to the end of the day all students in the class were lining up In front of the door like a formula one race, they all were so eager to leave the school. But it did not feel right to me leaving and forgetting about all the fun time I had in the school. The bell siren went of and there went my friends running down the hall and out the school, but I decided to stay back and say ‘Goodbye’ to all the teacher that had tutored me all through the five years. When that was over and done with I went straight home so I could relax and enjoy the six weeks, but there was another surprise when I got home – ‘I was going Pakistan’ for six weeks. This was defiantly my best day – I packed all my stuff together and staked it up on the side of my bed, I was ready to leave home and go to another country.…

    A blessing in disguise

I believe that all things happen for a reason, and that difficulties happen so that one can appreciate the good things that one has. When I was thirteen, my parents made the decision to transfer me to my hometown school because it had a good quality of education. I took two days travel there by train, bus, boat, 2000 kilometers far away from my city in another province. I was very sad and disappointed with this big change in my life. I missed my city, home and friends. In this small ancient town, people still got their drinking water from the well, washed their clothes in the river, and had very limited electricity. The town house that I lived with my aunt’s family was very wet and cold in winter. Furthermore, on the school entry test, I ranked at the bottom ten of sixty students, although I had ranked tenth in my previous class in the city. These changes made me feel lonely, frustrated and discouraged. However, after I saw my classmates having not enough food or clothing, and walking more than seven kilometers from other villages to school every day, I realized that comparing with them, I was much better. Gradually I was affected and inspired by their spirit. They were optimistic, diligent and not afraid of difficulties. I started calming down and putting all my efforts into my studies. Every day, I got up at 5:30 in the morning to recite English words and literature. At night, after finishing homework, I studied till after midnight. When electricity was off, I would continue studying with a candle. Under that hard circumstance, I made a great improvement in all my subjects. After two years, I ranked third in my class. When at last, I returned to my city for the High School Entrance Examination, I became very successfully enrolled in a high ranking high school in my city. I firmly believe that those two years’ experience were a blessing in disguise because it entirely changed me. I became independent and strong, and learned to have an…

Then, that summer I started to attend an English course. My mother chose it for me. But that course had just been established; it had only two teachers and five classes. I do not know why she picked up for me, but she said that it was the best course and director of that school is highly educated person. Next, I did some tests and started to attend that teacher’s class. Although he was director of that school, he was very open-minded person and he was giving us many advices about how to learn English. His lessons were very easy to understand and increased my interest in English. When I finished that course, I was happy choosing that course because by studying there, I learned lot of things. Sometimes I see my notes which I wrote down when I was taking that course. Then I understand that there are still many things to learn from his lessons.…
