Yes To Abortion

Before abortion was legal, 100,000 women died every year from getting back-alley abortions. Now that abortion is legal fewer women are dying of it. Women should be able to have abortion because before abortion was legal many women suffered terribly, no one has the right to tell them what to do with their body, and they should have control over medical issues that may arise.

First of all, before abortion was legal many women suffered terribly. In the past abortion was very stressful because many women didn’t even know what was it and what was the process. Women had to get coat hanger abortions. It was sad very sad for them. Also, they were sent away by their families in shame, and they were forced to give up their babies for adoption. In other words women know what’s good for them, even if father/partner is involved; she is the one who decides. That’s why they know what’s good for them.

Second of all, no one has the right to tell them what to do with their bodies. They are able to decide when they have unwanted pregnancies. If they may want to have abortion, these unwanted pregnancies may be because they were raped or from an unwanted relationship. In addition, women can decide to have abortion in an unexpected pregnancy because they might not have the resources to take care of the child. Also, women don’t like or don’t want the father of the child, and they don’t want memories. Due to the parental responsibilities many young females don’t even have the fathers help. No one has the right to tell them what to do because they are free to decide whatever they want.

Third of all, women should have control over any medical issues that may arise. For example, their child may have birth defects. His face could be deformed or he can be born without hands. After all, many children grow up with genetic problems and that’s why abortion is needed. Many children are born and in a few weeks they die, and it’s many children hard for a mother to deal with them. Finally many women decide to have abortion because of their quality of life. Some women have economic problems. Therefore, the child’s life won’t be good or the mother can be in drugs and she will bring a kid that she is not going to be capable of taking care of. They should have that control for the benefit of the child.

In conclusion, the government should never take abortion out the legal system because many women need it. Women should be able to have abortions because before abortion was legal many women suffered terribly, no one control over any medical issues that may arise. Women don’t have to be scared of abortion because abortion it’s very safe and they are not by their self’s. Many women’s don’t have abortion because they are scared that they might die but it is not like that. A doctor that makes abortions, are professionals and they know what they are doing. In the past women did not get professional care for abortion and many died. Senators or congressmen should keep abortion legal because women are not dying any more.

The debate on abortion is one that still to this day has been constantly argued. This argument can be historically dated back to 1973, where a popular case was brought into the Supreme Court. This was the Roe V Wade case, which legalized abortions in “abortion in earlier months of pregnancy without restrictions and with restrictions in later months” (Lewis). Jane Roe was the alias for Norma McCorvery. She was the one arguing that in Texas there should be abortions allowed due to the protection of her rights as well as many other women that she was speaking for. The argument of abortion, however, works well beyond just the “rights” of the women wanting it. There is death involved as well as responsibilities that apparently many women aren’t ready for. However there are certain circumstances in which the pregnancy might not have been exactly planned or the child wouldn’t be safe in the living conditions of its parents. In this case, abortion should still not be looked at instead adoption should be thought about. The Roe V Wade case should be reconsidered to only have an abortion done if it was absolutely vital to the person asking for it.…

52% of women under the age of 25 are guilty of having an abortion. Young women getting an abortion do not have enough life experience to fully understand what they are doing. This ends in the result of long life regret. Abortion often causes intense psychological pain and stress. Those at such a young age are too naïve to see that abortion is not a contraceptive. Women need to take responsibility for their actions and not getting rid of their problems. It is simply ending the life of an innocent child for their own Irresponsibility. The child is not the one who should be punished. Not only will choosing abortion lead to psychological pain but it also can increase ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and pelvic inflammatory disease.…

Every woman should have the opportunity to determine if they would want to keep their child or abort it. Growing up in today’s society, I find myself in an environment where kids are having kids, parents who aren’t capable to raise a child are having kids, and victims of sexual assault are having kids. And in most cases, the child ends up living a life that isn’t too well. This leads to children being neglected, abused, homeless, hungry and more importantly unloved. Imagine a woman not being allowed to have an abortion. Abortions eliminate the risks of all of those tragedies happening. The problem shouldn’t be killing an egg that isn’t fully yet involved into a baby. The problem should be having children but later neglecting or mistreating them to the point where they can’t be a happy child. Sometimes you hear parents saying, “I wish I would have waited.” or even worse “I don’t think I can do this.” For a lot of pregnancies, they aren’t planned. If we don’t allow for abortions to continue to be legal that simply means we are allowing for unfit parents to have kids and by doing this we are failing our children. I was taught to eliminate a problem before it escalates or before it becomes too late. We often hear stories about parents harming their children because the child might have cried too much or whined too much. Why should the child have to suffer? Why should a child be harmed in the first place? We can’t justify abortions not being legal. I feel that a human is born. Until then, you should be allowed to make the decision on whether or not you want to abort your child until it is too late. It’s a women’s right. A father can run away from his child but the mother will be there forever. The grandma might not care or the uncle might not be there but the mother will always be around. When we actually think about it, abortion isn’t as bad as we make it seem. It’s simply an alternative for a lifestyle that a person is trying to…

Some are considering it and some have gone through with it, although their reasoning is not a 'special case '. "There are many reasons why a woman may choose to have an abortion; occasionally, about 0.5 percent of the time, the decision is based on concern for the woman 's health or the health of the embryo or fetus. But, according to a 2004 study, 92 percent of women who had abortions, cited "social" or "other" reasons, rather than medical reasons or sexual assault, as the primary basis for their abortions. These social reasons included such things as the timing being wrong for having a child; not being able to afford a baby; having relationship problems with the father; or not feeling mature enough to raise a child. Many people think that some abortions are legitimate while others are not, and that the government should determine the specific cases in which abortions are legal. Others think that the decision should always be left up to the woman as a matter of personal privacy" (Rich). Women are getting abortions for reasons that go against what laws say. Breaking the law and the murder of an unborn child should not be justified by social reasons. However, previously women were more passionate about their choices and had legitimate reasons to have one, where they fought legal battles to gain the right to choose. "By the mid-1960s, such feminist organizations as the National Organization for Women were focusing on abortion as a key to women 's liberation. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, several state legislatures liberalized their abortion laws. It was based upon a woman 's right to privacy under the United States Constitution. In the years since legalization, millions of American women have obtained abortions" (Neumann). Women fought for their rights and won. Though women should be allowed to have choices, how can they make a choice…

Abortion is never an easy decision, in fact its one of America's most controversial issues in today's reality, but women have none the less been making that choice for thousands of years. Studies show that about 43% of American women will have one or more abortions during their lifetime, and women's centers and hospitals perform more than a million abortions on an annual basis. Women have many reasons for not wanting to be pregnant including age, marital status, economic status, and the circumstances of their pregnancy, and thus seek out an abortion. Although many citizens view abortion as an immoral act of brutality and strongly contest its usage, others believe the choice belongs solely to the mother and the mother alone.…

A woman feels that she has authority to do what she wants with her body. Some of these women feel that they are not ready to take on the role of motherhood, have the financial means to raise the child, or have the support by a spouse or family members. In other cases, rape or incest resulted in a pregnancy that was not done willingly by the woman involved. These sets of women are those who look at abortion as a sense of redemption from the situation that they were put in. In other words, a quick fix is something they’re in search of. In the eyes of our society, it is stated that is just as much of the woman’s fault as is the man’s because they feel women contribute to the possibility of being raped whether it be by the way they dress or the environment they put their selves in. Victims in this situation feel as if they are at fault and put all the blame upon them which raises the chances of an…

First and foremost, abortion allows a woman the right to her own body. Some say that abortion should not be used as a form of contraception, but birth control fails daily. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 6% of all birth controls fail each year. Women on birth control tend to disregard the chance of getting pregnant since the percentage is so low, therefore, the only protection they choose to utilize is the birth control. Women should remain to have the option to abort an undesired fetus. Along with contraception issues, there are other factors to reason with to keep abortion legal.…

Imagine if a women is forced to be a mother, even if she does not want to, even if she is not prepared, would it be fair? Would it be fair that a fifteen year old girl who was raped, was the mother of another girl? It would be a very irresponsible act on the part of the society to leave that girl, who is not even an adult, and let her take responsibility for the life of someone else. In the end, not all the women are the same, which is why everyone has a different opinion and a different perspective on life. Laws disallowing abortion keeps women from settling on the decisions that empower them to carry on with their preferred way of life, and reducing their capacity to contribute to society adequately.…
