Why Do Professional Athletes Get Paid?
Is it really worth to pay athletes so much money? People are saying that Pro athletes are getting paid way too much. Athletes are role models and motivators for kids. Also a lot of their money comes from sponsorships. Team Owners and Sponsorships pay athletes a reasonable amount. They also are role models for kids that look up to them a lot. People make athletes role models because they want to be just like that athlete in the future and follow what they do off the field. The kids will always look up to athletes. The brands that people wear,eat and drink are mostly having Pro athletes on the cover of their product to sell it. Also, a player might want a big contract if they go to a team that they know isn’t good, but the owner thinks he can …show more content…
First, Pro athletes are role models for many fans and children and provide lots entertainment for the fans. In fact, kids all over the world look up to that one special athlete that they want to be when they grow up. Athletes also need to make sure they do stuff right off the field too because kids will follow what they do. According to psychologytoday.com (Are professional athletes good role models?). Secondly, the athletes also provide entertainment for the fans with their spectacular skills on the field. This way the team will bring in more money by having a specific athlete that is very good at the game. Lastly, Kids need a role model to look up to in their life and it’s mostly athletes because many kids play all different kinds of sports and hope to make it to the Bigs by following their role model.
