Who Is Lone Survivor?
Following the quote, the film “Lone Survivor” was played. The film focused on a group of Navy SEALs, including one named Marcus, who are going into Afghanistan in order to kill the Taliban leader. The Taliban leader is responsible for killing over twenty US Marines as well as people who had allegedly helped or aided the United States. When facing the Taliban, the Navy SEALs are outnumbered and several are killed. Back-up is called, although when that fails, more Navy SEALs are killed. Marcus remains as the last Navy SEAL alive on the mission, or a “lone survivor”, and is rescued by a villager. The villager takes Marcus into his home and prevents the Taliban from killing him.
