Who Are Meerkats?
There are very little animals on earth who can work together like Meerkats do. These miniature members of the mongoose family work together in groups as large as 40. Whether it’s finding food, looking out for predators, or watching the babies, everyone has a job. Meerkats live in the northern tip of South Africa, as well as various other deserts and grasslands. They use burrows for protection, digging them out with their long sharp claws. A full mob can live in up to 5 burrows at once. These burrows help protect the Meerkats from intense heat, hungry predators, and a variety of other things.

Meerkats only go outside during daylight. Every morning, as the sun comes up, the mob hurries outside to start the day activities. A vast majority of

A few differences between the two toed sloth and the three toed sloth can be found in their digestive systems, home range, relationships with other organisms, diet, and their anatomical structure. According to the map provided, the two species of sloths were found to be dispersed quite randomly. However, the majority of two toed sloths were found in the agricultural land, and the majority of the three toed sloths were found in the lowland second-growth forest. By further observing the differences in diet, mobility, and relationships sloths have with…

Bombats may have their highest activity around noon because it is when the sun is most present, giving them warmer tempretures. These warmer tempretures may also affect the presence of any predators they may have, meaning those predators may prefer to be out in the cold, thus making the bombats come out when it is warm. The Bombats may also…

In the book, “A Sea of Grass,” by Outwater, she delivers a strong argument as to why prairie dogs are beneficial to the grassland ecosystem. Prairie dogs create habitats for other species, because over 200 species live nearby prairie dog burrows. The burrows are never built all the same. Some have special pockets, turn-around rooms, and others have chambers with grass. The temperature underground is convenient for species living there, being as it is warm in winter, and cooler in the summer. Outwater presents a valid reason for protecting the rodents. For example, she states,” In the process of constructing their towns of tunnels, the prairie dogs once moved tons of subsoil above ground, where they mixed it with top soil and organic matter..”(Outwater 74). Many species benefit from this churning of the soil because it creates grasses which are richer in protein. The prairie dogs also help to increase the amount of water that makes it underground, which enhances the productivity of the soil. Concurrently, more water goes into rivers and streams. Another component of prairie dogs is that they are social, loving creatures. They engage in their own communication. When they see a predator, they make a bark that signals all the dogs around to protect…

Why do people spend so much money on their animal? In Burkhard Bilgers “The Last Meow” people are spend thousands of dollars on their cat. Many people spend money like that on their animals. People spend that money on special food, toys, and most expensively veterinary care. Many people argue all the money spent on animals can go toward more important things like human health care and technological advancements. I argue that people can spend money on their animals if they wish. Besides, it is their money that they are spending, they love their animals, and animals have the right to live a nice life to.…

When I took oath as president, just four short years ago. Much has changed, though for some of you, I agree it hasn’t been enough. This election isn’t about whether I am the best president, which I do not claim so, this election is about who will perform better in office. That would be me, or my competitor, Governor Romney. I have spent the last four years, trying to get us out of this financial mess that has put unemployment rates as high as 10%, one of the highest rates since the Great Depression. This mess that seems to be the theme of this election is no one presidents fault. There is no point in lowering taxes on people who have no problem paying them. Priming the pump is a long-term plan that will indefinitely help strengthen America’s middle class. With another four years in office, I will get unemployment rates under 6%. I will also decrease the increasing rate of global climate change, something Governor Romney is neglecting. Finally, my position on health care is to make sure all Americans are insured and don’t go bankrupt in the process of paying medical bills.…

In May 2013, Edward Snowden, a CIA and NSA employee, risked his career and freedom to do something he felt was right; let the world know that the United States had programs such as the interception of telephone metadata, PRISM, XKeyscore, and Tempora internet surveillance programs. This was called the most significant leak in US history by some and sparked up the discussion about the balance between national security and civil liberties. The country needs to strike a balance between national security and civil liberties by sacrificing some of one to give way for more of the other.…

My opinion about the kata- kata (solders)is that they are very cruel and evil people. They can destroy a person in many ways, especially girls. The solders are men, they are not only horrible to girls, but even to bonobos. As stated in the text, “Especially if you were a girl, the moment night fell you stayed where you were and locked the door” (Schrefer 20). This states that girls really need to be careful especially during night because girls can get rapid which would be the worst thing. A mother would never want that to happen to their child. It would hurt them and that’s why they are so protective. Another reason is because of bonobos; they are kidnapped by mens. Men kidnap these poor bonobos from their own parents and hurt them. When the…

One thing that these articles help you learn is how animals survive is their shelters. To add on to this, according to the article, Animal Architects, one example is beaver lodges.
