What I Learned In My English 1102 Class
Writing was extremely difficult for me when I was younger, mainly because the great ideas I had in my head would not sound so great when I wrote them down on paper. It would sound so perfect to me, yet didn’t make any sense to someone else. Also, I dislike writing for the simple fact that there are a lot of rules to it. Throughout my high school years, I was a poor writer, and it came to my attention in my English 1101 class last year. I failed it the first time, because of not knowing how to get my thoughts to come together without them being all over the place. Retaking that course has really helped me get more focused on my writing skills.

Throughout the essay the point he is trying to make is that as the internet becomes our primary source of information, it begins to affect our ability to read books and other long pieces. Even though this process may offer knowledge efficiency, it flattens our brain’s learning experience in the process. The first thing Carr does is share a problem with the audience about how he can’t focus on reading. I noticed that when I’m reading something on the internet that is long or a little boring I drift off, or I’ll read it but not understand what I just read after in finished. Carr describes how the internet is set up to make other people money and how our critical thinking skills and attention spans are degrading in the process. I believe that he might have been correct about that, if I’m reading or doing homework on the computer, almost everything I stop and click on something else. I can never focus on one thing for a long period of
