If our lungs get stronger so do we, this makes it easier for us to breathe and it will not leave us as tired out. This will make it easier for oxygen to flow through our lungs, it will have us get more oxgyen to our head leaving us with better minds for us to think easier. This will make it effortless for us to focus, because if we do not get enough oxygen to our brains. It will be exaughsting for us to think. It also keeps a clear and good mind, leaving out the negative

The excerpt says,¨ I will never forget when I first ran barefoot as a child on the warm sand of a lonely wooded road in Germany, where I smelled the pines, heard wood pigeons coo, and saw bright green tiger beetles running or flying ahead of me.¨(pg.66) Heinrich is remembering his past, and this helps him mentally keep going. On the same page, he says, ¨The problem was: how to prepare to run that far?¨ He is showing his prowess to make himself physically better.…

Since I was 7 years old, basketball has played an integral part of my life. I have devoted countless hours to not just a sport, but a passion, an outlet; to the game that I love. When I arrived at Bow Middle School as a fifth grader, my classmates and I would always look up to the 7th and 8th grade middle school basketball teams. Every year during winter carnival, the boys and girls teams would play a game in front of the entire school. Playing in that game became a dream and a goal of mine, but first I would need to make the team. For three years I developed my basketball skills, using my passion for the sport and desire to play in that game as motivation. When tryouts for basketball in 8th grade drew near, I knew I was ready. However a new coach would be at the helm this year. Our new basketball coach was also a coach for the youth football program. This resulted in numerous football…

I was never really much of a runner, except when I did track in middle school, ran with some friends at Lake Merced, and on the treadmill at the gym. I always thought running was really boring and rough on my body, until one day my manager at Nike asked me if I wanted to volunteer to run during our Run Club. That is how I got into running but then it slowly turned into a love/hate relationship. There were days I loved to run because it made me feel strong and it gave me a lot of time to reflect while I go on for a long time, and on other days, I just did not feel like doing it at all because I felt lazy and then I completely fell off.…

For me basketball is better than football. Other than the exciting and entertaining plays that happen in basketball, the atmosphere itself in the arena is what makes it special. Yes, football games are fun to attend and have many die hard fans in the stands that cheer them on, but it doesn't compare to the amount of energy in a basketball arena. In some games, football fans stop cheering for their team when they are losing really badly, but in basketball, that's just not the case. Many bad teams have fans cheering them on when they are getting creamed by another team. Personally, I like them both. But when it comes to it basketball is the way to go.…
