Title: Wellness Audit Report In this service/centre that I’m working in, I’ve attended the courses that they provide which is The Diploma in Children’s Services, as an early childhood educator were expected to participate in various health classes in order to meet our centre’s requirements. Our centre aims to offer and provide a secure, loving and stimulating environment in which the individual needs of each child can be met. We provide a special regard for the cultural, language and ethnic needs of all the children and their families.
Because of these classes and courses that we were required to take, I consider myself to be somewhat knowledgeable on the subject of human health. I learned about the six dimensions of health and understood that there was more to being a healthy person than being well physically. I was also taught that I have a great deal of control over my wellness. I was taught that by making positive or negative lifestyle choices I would be controlling my level of wellness. I know quite a bit about what I should and shouldn’t do, so why do I still make negative choices?

Whenever I would think of health and wellness, my mind would always revert back to just being sick or being in shape. I have learned that it is much more to it than just that. Health and wellness is more of being in a state of total social, mental, and physical wellbeing. Factors such as the environment, social life, emotions, spirituality, and physicality all play a role in one’s health. In order to life fully with meaning, these dimensions are a very important part of our health. Physical health deals with body size and shape. Social health is more of how you deal…

If you are missing one of the six I think it affects the other areas of health. I see this with my son who has anxiety and panic attacks, when he has an attack then he is more likely to get sick like with a cold and then it takes him forever to feel his old self again, he says he is never really good. I know for me being spiritual healthy makes it easier for me to be emotionally healthy. I have to be happy and feel good about me with is hard but I am learning it is ok not to be perfect as long as you are happy with your body, mind and soul. I know that I feel all around better when I can work out in some way whether it be working out, working in the garden or taking a walk. It is important to take care of yourself by eating healthy, protecting your skin with sunscreen, not going outside when the pollen level is high for me. Enjoying a good movie that makes me cry can release stress and tense as well as watching a movie that makes me laugh so hard I cry. I try and relate to my co-workers maintaining social healthy relationships, by being open minded to be a good and understand friend and co-worker. At work I am in charge of the recycle program, if we can reuse, repurpose that is a way to save the environmental and that makes for a happy…

After reading Health Starts Where We Learn (2010), I would have to agree with the author’s thoughts on what they believe impacts our health. The environment in which we live, the level of education we achieve, our relationship with our work, and the importance of play all contribute to the health choices we choose. I believe it is important to watch what we consume, the amount of sleep we get, take part in physical activities, etc. in order to feel well both mentally and physically.…

There are three elements of health and wellness our group would want to increase in society. First one is Physical health that includes our ability to perform normal activities of daily living (ADLs), or those tasks necessary to normal existence in today’s society. Second one is Environmental health refers to an appreciation of the external environment and the role individuals play to preserve, protect, and improve environmental conditions. Third one would be Spiritual health refers to the deepest part of you that lets you make meaning of your world. Its involves subscribing to a way of life or a belief in a supreme…

My Lifestyle Changes Paper will include the six components of wellness, that being Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Spiritual, Interpersonal and Environmental wellness. It will include my goals, my weaknesses as well as my strengths to the components of wellness as well as a plan for myself to manage all of these components. The paper will also include anticipated changes in my lifestyle that may challenge the individual components of wellness and how I plan to deal with these changes. The first component of wellness that I’ll discuss in that of Physical wellness, which requires eating well, exercising, avoiding harmful habits, responsible decision making, learning about and recognizing sicknesses and diseases, keeping regular medical and such checkups along with preventing injuries along with other physical characteristics of your body. My goals for Physical wellness are to live a healthy and active lifestyle. In order to do this I must improve on some of my weaknesses in this area, which are eating unhealthy foods. I must also learn to make some decisions that I make more responsible, as well as learning more about diseases and how I can prevent them from happening. Another key fault of mine is that I drink alcohol, it may be just a college phase, but in order to be completely physically healthy I must learn to cut down on my consumption of alcohol. Despite my weaknesses I do have many strengths in this area, some are exercising regularly which I have always tried to find time to do. Trying to be selective in my eating habits and eating as much healthy food as possible. Another strength is I am motivated and care about my physical appearance and how I treat my body and want to look. My plan to improve on my Physical wellness by continuing living an active lifestyle and exercising regularly. Also to try to step things up a notch for that of my strengths, continue doing the good things that I have been doing. I’d also like to improve greatly upon my weaknesses,…
