We The People Journey Analysis
Congratulations! This is your first step into the We The People journey. Look at the two people next to you, you will be stuck with them for the rest of the school year. You three will grow to be a powerhouse through work and support from each other. After (hopefully) completing the summer assignment, you have an overall idea of what Unit 3 is. However, it is not until you research it in depth that you realize that it is by far the best unit you could be in. This unit allows you to find your passions and fight for them, whether it is protecting minorities, voting rights, or your hate for the inefficiency of Congress (and the government in general). This unit is court case heavy. Anything relating to equal protection, due process, incorporation and civil rights in general has a zillion court cases related to it.

One of the most important things that you need to realize is to trust Hyams. He knows exactly what he is doing, especially when it comes to choosing your unit mates. For example, we didn't put each other on our dream list but somehow ended up together. Make sure to have conversations with each other about your question and clarify it to one another if someone doesn’t understand it. Make sure that everyone knows what is going on, and never leave anyone behind. It will be hard and difficult at first. Get to know your unit mates first. Our unit did not take the time to get to know each other outside of WTP until after the state competition. Once we did, we were more united and cohesive in competition as well as better friends.     When they got back we had just lost four people on another deployment. So we were short on personnel, and the few that we had didn’t have a whole lot of experience in their job. There were two of us with experience that we SSG, and I. When we first found out that we were going to be doing the 30th Brigade after losing our people we went to our higher up to try and get some more help. They said okay at first but then told us that they didn’t have the money to hire and train new people. So we were still going to have to do the mission with few personnel but still get it done in 365 days just like always. So SSG and I took it upon our self and started training the few people we did have. They knew the situation we were in and all worked as hard as they could to learn how to do the work as well as fill out the paperwork as well. We had two of our soldiers stand up and take on the team leader position after only a week or two. So we decided to split the team into two groups with SSG and one of the other team leaders working on one team. The other team leader and I worked together to make up the other team.
