Groups, Teams, and Conflict
This paper would be used as a guide to develop a usable plan to build teams and help eliminate conflict that has been created among the employees of Riordan Manufacturing. Riordan Manufacturing goal is to produce a new product but need to resolve internal conflicts among two to the employees. Utilizing various types of conflict management strategies would help alleviate any major conflict within the work environment and both employees; it would lessen the tension in the workplace and increase productivity. Conflicts are inevitable and would prevail as each individual would have different perspectives of things. The key element is to find the most appropriate strategy to resolve conflicts in the workplace. There is several solution types, the most appropriate one would be used for each circumstances.

Highly specific to one process. Team members that work in the same process can be used to address specific issues
Usually built for a specific task and limited to single location.

Leadership/Structure

Share work load evenly among all team members and learn to delegate responsibility
This structure many not be likely for self-managed teams. Functionality may lack because no one agrees.

Steady communication

Keep communication open and flowing steadily within the team. Resolve any miscommunication as quickly as possible.
Placing too much of emphasis on solving a problem can take away from production and slow down the work pace.
Cross-Functional Team

Utilizing team members from other process vice versa, learning each other’s duties and responsibilities.
Initial success could take longer as it would take time to build trust.
