Value of Life
Life is the Value Being alive should be the one thing to value about something that exists. Life itself should not have a set amount, but rather try to make sure the living take it as an opportunity for themselves. As people, there is no proof we were put here for any reason, so while we’re given life, we should just live. There will be experiences that we go through, and moments we will keep, but if only a set amount of people can live with these memories they cannot be called part of a “life well lived.” That would negate all others who believe they had a “life well lived.” Rendering lives invaluable is considered something absurd, but having a life is the one value we all forget. When something exists, they should be worried about sustaining themselves for survival. It is no coincidence that the first two human drives are to eat and drink. Survival is an obviously important part of existing. The point of life is to live. There is no one to live for, but ourselves. As Johnny 5 said in one of his songs, “Well God’s given me life, so I’m living, that’s why.” This is a perfect example of someone who knows that the secret to life is simply to live it. According to Time magazine, a human life is worth $129,000. However, they do mention that is the realistic price. The opening sentence is spot on, “In theory, a year of human life is priceless.” This further helps my point proving that the human life has no value. Family members of deceased victims of D.U.I.’s and other deadly unfortunate causes are always offered compensation. The response would almost always be, “No amount will bring them back.” This reasoning is all it takes to realize that life’s value is just within itself. A life’s value cannot be remotely considered if the being hasn’t spent time upon earth. Fetuses should not be considered living people for this reason.
