Unit 18 Persuasive Speech
I strongly believe, that the legal age for driving should be reduced by 12 months. Changing the law will have a positive influence on the state of Victoria and for all of the young adults whom soon will be going for their licence. As an Australian myself I believe that all states of Australia should be equal. That seventeen year olds of Victoria will become more independent, reducing the age will also have a lasting impact on legal guardian’s, and also in teens who have apprenticeships and/or live in rural areas.
So you have finally reached your 120 or more hours of driving on your learns, but it is also your seventeenth birthday; you are feeling confident as an independent and as a driver, and you are ready for your driving test. And also to feel achievement when receiving your P1 probationary licence, in the following 12 months that you have got too come you will become free and independent driver. The difference between you being able to drive on your P1 at seventeen compared to eighteen, is that once you turn eighteen you have the influence of alcohol and going out, (to clubs and bars ect). But if the young adult gets their P1 licence at seventeen, they will have a whole twelve months to drive solo on the roads, without any …show more content…
Lowering the driving age would minimise the amount of stress that is put on parents and the young adult, as there is so much stress on parents, as they are having to get everyone to everywhere on time, but also get themselves to places on time. Which does not allow time for a parent to have time for themselves (especially for a parent whom parents alone). For the adolescent who is not relying on others, will make them have more responsibilities and can be taken more accountable for their own action in
