1. What is meant by diversity?

Diversity refers to variations across society. These variations can be in gender, age, religion, culture, ethnic origin, sexuality or class (not an exclusive listing), although for the most part it is the more visible, major differences that are seen by society in general to be covered by the term.

2. Describe the community you live in. Highlight some of the variations you may observe in terms of:

• Interests:-
My local community has a very diverse collection of personal interests, those that are most apparent in conversation are: History, Body building, Ornithology, Motor vehicles/Historic cars and Gardening. The only interests obvious to visual scrutiny are gardening and an interest in historical cars with a display of horticultural prowess visible in many places and in one case a flow of historical vehicles appearing and being worked on and renovated, at present a 1930s saloon and a 1950s police car visible, whilst being worked on.

• Beliefs:-
This is definitely not obvious in our local community, with few noticeable signs to be seen. With a deeper knowledge of the local populace it becomes obvious that the majority are Agnostic, with a fair number of followers of the C of E (Active & Lapsed), one Evangelical Baptists, one family each of Jehovah's Witnesses', Muslims and
