Two Hours Long Basketball Practice
The length of basketball practice should be shortened because it is time consuming and stressful. There is no reason that basketball practice should be twice as long as every other after school activity. The other clubs are just as important, so it isn’t fair they don’t get such privileges. On top of that, the two hour practices really wear out the bodies of the players. They go through long, grueling, practices for not one, but two hours. Do you really want your child to suffer for two hours? Besides, people have lives outside in the parking lot for two hours. People have families to attend to, children have homework to do, and parents have work. The only thing slowing down is two hour long basketball practices. All this could be solved if

"The rule makes sure that players are not rushing into the NBA when they are not ready but also provides an opportunity for these players who decide to leave to mature both physically and mentally." (publicargument 8) New players are both more eager, and weaker, therefore, are more likely to get hurt when playing. While some people may say that high schoolers should be mature already, many of them have had no formal training, and therefore are still not ready. "More than 3.5 million children ages 14 and younger get hurt annually playing sports or participating in recreational activities." (stanfordchildrens 4) Younger players are more prone to getting injured. Even older and more experienced players get injured at a high rate, too, as shown on prezi: "The NBA has a injury rate of 44.6% per player." (Prezi 1)…

The Nba is fighting for a 2 year rule for college players who are just coming from high school going to college and they are able to one year and enter the draft .The students education should make the difference than any sport .Another problem would be the young athletes are interviewed by the media as a young athlete and the whole world is watching them. Have you ever noticed that the young players who do one year in college ,and make it to the pros end up with not a good education. If the young players sustain a injury or even worse wouldn't be able to play again they wouldn't have a degree or a job .A Lot of pro scouts they look for strong ,and mental demands ,and most of the players out of high school players aren't ready .That was a few…

    Amanda Ripley Analysis

The article written by the author states that “It’s not just about grades. Time spent on the field or on the court also benefits your health” Which means that physical activity is good for kids and is needed in order to maintain a healthy and worthwhile life. (O’Shei, 12) The Author includes more information when he states “If we cut back school sports some kids will be shut out of sports completely” his next statement is, “Yes, club sports that is, private leagues outside of school would be an option for some, but fees, equipment, and travel expenses can add up to thousands of dollars per season” Which means that children would be shut out of opportunities to participate because of the high amounts of money needing to be payed for private sport lessons or leagues.(O’Shei,12) While public schools say they're all about equal opportunities, if they shut down the programs that they have kids will not equal connections as the students did before them, which is very unfair, going back on how open schools say their “Job is to create and deliver new opportunities.” Juniors need this more than ever, and if we were to shut it all down they could not begin to know what it is like to have this sort of feeling clinging onto them, having a constant positive vibe around…

When would students be able to practice at sporting events? This six-hour school schedule would leave room for practice in the morning. This would free up late afternoon and evening time for homework. Another question asked is when would these kids have time to do homework if the practice was after school? Students could start their homework and not worry about staying up too late. Students would have the ability to wake up around seven if they went to bed around eight and still receive eight hours of sleep.…

Do you know the feeling when you get good grades or win a game for your team? It gives you confidence and makes you feel proud that you’ve accomplished something. But with the later starting times you might have a struggle between grades and sports. With the later starting times it might be an obstacle to get to sports events or making it to any after school activity when you might have a school class at that time. Or the school sports will be releasing athletes later from practice because of the time taken off by starting school and dismissing students from school later. In my opinion I think that students shouldn't start later because of traffic with transportation and after school activities interfering.…

My first reason on why we shouldn’t add any more hours is because there would be no time for extracurricular activities. With having no exercise time in the day kids would be wild and hard to get asleep at night, which would be a long day ahead of them.Because normally kids would be worn out after gym or running around playing on the playground. According to the article http://www.huffingtonpost.com it states that “Involving your kid in sports at a young age does not mean that they are going to be taken out of your home and moved across the country to train to be a world-class athlete at the age of five. It is up to you as the parent to keep tabs on what is reasonable for you particular child and their personality”. And it also states “On the other hand, we shouldn't always shy away from pushing our children when they need a nudge. We certainly encourage our children to read, write, and learn math. We don't think twice about making them go to school every single morning. Yet when it comes to sports (that can also be very valuable to their development) we shy away from one practice a week.” So now i know what you are think that i should let my kid play sports because they need to be pushed a little and they always can't just…

“About 40% of public schools have already cut, or plan on cutting recess from their school day” (Education Reporter, 1). Along with that more and more schools are now taking away physical education classes to make more time for math, reading, and writing. The main concern with taking these out of schools is that it will contribute to the rising issue of childhood obesity. Also, children benefit from short recess breaks throughout the day in many different ways. The last reason recess and P.E. should be required is that physical activity is a very important part of the development of a young child. Academics and test scores are important; however educators must look out for the health and well-being of every child. I believe that recess and physical education class should not be taken out of schools; they should be required as part of every day curriculum.…
