Thomas Jefferson's Theory Of Inactivity Doesn T Work
According to Thomas Jefferson, being active all the time is good and accomplishing. His theory is wrong, though. You need periods of inactivity to rest, give your mind a break, and take time to relax or think. You get a lot done even when you're taking time off. It should be in your best interest to let your mind take a break after using it for so long. Inactivity rewards your brain with ideas for the next time you'd like to accomplish something. You don't accomplish anything if your mind isn't functioning properly. If you're always doing something, how are you supposed to complete more important tasks? You can't, unless you work yourself to the max. Therefore, you need rest, a lot of rest. Just like your mind, your body can acquire just as many issues if you don't stop everything once in a while. …show more content…
Some activity is great for you, whether it's bike riding, figuring out mathematical equations or simply cooking dinner. Inactivity serves it's purpose by controlling the amount of activities you do for your own sake. Also, you've got to have time to think. It's a necessity to collect your thoughts every chance you get. Don't work so much to the point where you can't even think. Your mind is sensitive, so don't overuse it because you only get one. The only thing you'll accomplish is suffering. To summarize, Thomas Jefferson's theory of ''being active all the time is good'' is completely wrong. You always need to take time to rest, think and give your mind a break. You'll get more done than you'd think. You'll accomplish not overusing your mind and body. Accomplishment isn't always about how much you can get

Throughout our short time in this class we have been able look at many articles written by very influential people. The arguments they have presented have affected numerous people across the globe. By studying the works of Jefferson, Stanton, Wollstonecraft, and Woolf I have been able to see what makes an argument good vs what make an argument great. What makes an argument great or the best, is the authors ability to select the correct audience, use form to address that audience and ultimately have a lasting effect on the world. Although each of these authors present their arguments in an excellent manner, I believe that it is Jefferson who presents the best argument. There are three criteria which make Jefferson’s argument transcend above…
