The Vow
My favorite movie was “The Vow” by Michael Sucsy, with the main characters being Channing Tatum as Leo and Rachel McAdams as Paige. The plot of the movie is Leo and Paige are driving around and they stop at a stop sign and Paige unbuckles her seatbelt, but just when they are about to kiss a big truck slams into their vehicle causing Paige to fly through the windshield. She ends up in the hospital and finds out she had brain hemorrhaging and she loses her memory of falling in love with Leo, or even knowing who he was. Leo is upset and thinks he will never get Paige to love him again. Paige and her parents weren’t talking and her parents come to the hospital and want to take her home with them, but Leo insist she goes back with him to regain some of her memory from her old life. Paige is very confused about her life and marriage with Leo. Towards the end of the movie Leo finally accepts the fact that Paige won’t remember their love but Leo treats her like they just met. He asks her to go on her “first” date with him and their “first” everything. Paige’s doctor tells her to fix the holes in her life and not be afraid of things from her old life. Leo and Paige separate for a while but in the end they get back together even through her memory is not fully there.
The theme of the story is true love. Even though Paige didn’t remember Leo, he still tried to keep their relationship together. Leo didn’t give up on them, but in the end after separating they still found each other. Some character developments was Leo, he started off loving her and when he found out she didn’t remember him, he got mad and anger, but he ended up never giving up. Another development was with Paige, she got into the car accident and didn’t remember anything of who Leo was, until he kept trying and she started to remember little parts of their life together and she ended up falling in love with him all over again.
Some dialogue was said by Leo and he said “No matter what challenges that keeps us

The Notebook is one of my favorite love movies of all time. The reason I love this movie so much is because that main characters Noah and Allie go through so many trials and finally end up together in the end. This movie I feel shows me how strong their love for each other really was and I now feel as if it is meant to be it will always find a way. Looking at the movie as a reference to get a better understanding of how lifespan development works, I realized that most of the trials that Noah and Allie went though were part of stages of development. The theory of stages of development was created by Erik Erikson, he believes that we go though certain stages in our life and if we do not get passed them properly we will end up with underdeveloped skills in our lives. The Notebook has many different stages that the main characters go though such as, stage eight, integrity vs. despair, stage five, identity vs. identity confusion, and stage six, intimacy vs. isolation.…

The exposition of the story begins when we are introduced to the main character, Miles, a very intelligent teen, who didn’t have any friends at his old school. He leaves his home in Florida to go to a boarding school in Culver Creek, Alabama. There, he meets his roommate Chip also known as “the Colonel” and Chips best-friend Alaska. Chip and Alaska are both extremely intelligent, but they both have struggling families. The rising action begins when the author describes how Miles falls deeply in love with Alaska. Miles meets two of their closest friends, Takumi and Lara. Miles goes on multiple dates with Lara even though he loves Alaska, but Alaska has a boyfriend. The climax begins when the dean of their school calls them in for a meeting in order for him to announce that Alaska passed away the night last night due to a car accident. Near the end of the book leo wanted to be like everyone. I can relate to this because at one point I just wanted to be like everyone else, but Leo and I both learned that it is not necessary to change who you are. We also both learned that being selfish doesn't always get you what you want. As evidence in the text Leo made Stargirl change herself for his benefit and that ended in Stargirls embarrassment. Also i think that Leo and i learn our lessons to late. As proof in the text Leo learn that his actions can hurt others and he lost Stargirl before he even knew what happened. I can relate to that because I often say the wrong things to the wrong people and I often learn to late that my actions can hurt other…

The main character had a terrible relationship with his father. They didn’t see eye to eye at all. The father just took him to baseball games and left him there with an usher that he paid to watch him. The absence of a father figure was significant to his childhood. When he grew up he tried to be anything but that memory. He was involved in his children’s lives. This would be a family theme where the parent separates themselves from the child, so they could attend to their own matters in life. The next theme can be seen in the family that has the young girl being feed information like a sponge ruining her childhood so she could get ahead intellectually. The parents did not see her as a child but as some sort of machine. It is not the proper way to raise a child. She was socially awkward and didn’t have the social skills to socialize with the other children at Kevin’s birthday party. This theme is where the parents treat the child as an object rather than a living being. The next one is in the single mom with the two kids. She struggles to support for her family and her children disrespect her all the time. The son was so distant from her and left all the time, while the daughter was in love with a troubled boy. The son was having problems with himself since she went through puberty and he didn’t have a father figure to explain all the changes in his body and while he was feeling certain things. Todd became that father figure when he married the boy’s sister and got to explain what was happening through experience. This helped out the single mother trying to support her two children. The youngest son and brother of Gil the main character displayed the same type of parenting as the grandfather did with Gil, abandoning his child and dumping him with whoever would take care of him.…

Love is a large theme I noticed in this reading. Between Miles timeworn loves, love he hasn’t let go of, and confusing love for his student Beverly, it seems as though Miles never caught a break. Being a middle aged bachelor has shown to drag him down, never seeming to be excited for much of anything anymore. I get a sense that Miles is a confused soul, who looks out for the needs of others before himself. Taking a different turn on love, I feel as though Miss McGee filled this description very well. As she had once stated that Miles seemed like a husband/son figure to her. I believe those two played very important roles in each other’s lives, and they were both equally lucky to have one another. Heartbreak also plays a big part in this novel, not only in Miles life, but in others as well. Between his heartbreaks of adolescence, Beverly’s love for Miles, and others feelings in the climax of this reading, I feel as though heartbreak is definitely a proper theme seem in this. However, I felt each character handled heartbreak with strength. We definitely see this in the end of the novel when Miss McGee and Beverly stay strong and decide to continue on with their lives. One instant where this remains false however was the reaction I saw Carla…

No country or society can claim to be free of domestic violence; it cuts across boundaries of culture, class, education, income, ethnicity and age. Domestic violence is a pattern of coercive behavior in which one person attempts to control another through threats or actual use of physical violence, sexual assault, and verbal or psychological abuse. No one should become implicated in domestic violence relationships. There is a repeating cycle of violence in the relationship, the abuse involved is horrific, and the relationship can result in death.…
