Mobile phone use has become a very common phenomenon, and people mostly depend on cell phones for communication. A mobile phone is a phone that can make and receive telephone calls over a radio link while moving around a wide geographic territory (Wikipedia). Cell phone has influenced people’s lives in many different ways: Provides communicate with friends, family, and coworkers, in case of emergency, and purchasing from the internet.

First of all, cell Phones make it easy to contact family and friends, especially for users who travel a lot. Cell phones have SMS, which means short messages service, and instant messaging such as Facebook, which is an app that provides chatting, sharing pictures and events, which encourage communication between individuals and allow users to stay in more or less constant contact. Approximately, 350 billion text messages, which are also called “SMS messages”, are sent every month across the worlds mobile networks even though more than 15% of these messages are classified as commercial or marketing messages (Grab stats).

Second of all, cell phone service is very often used in the emergency services for doctors, policemen and firemen, and most doctors and nurses who are in constant contact they rely on mobile phones. The same type of communication is used in fire departments and police departments. When they need more staff they can easily contact them even when they are not at home. Cell phones make emergency services more efficient and are vital for individuals. Indeed, when people are in emergency situations, they can call for help no matter where they are. For example, if people have a car accident on the highway, they can call Highway Patrol for help. Morover, tourists who get lost can easily use his cell phones to call service center. Therefore, tourists can access to information such as right directions. Another use for mobile phones in emergencies is being able to text them. Some private companies and government agencies provide emergency alerts through e-mail systems and text messaging (Emergency Preparedness) . Previously deaf and dumb people were unable to contact emergency services until the invention of mobile phone texting. This life saving invention will and has saved lives.

Finally, cellphones have become vital tools for consumers allowing users to get information, search for discounts and purchase products such as books and electronic devices directly from their devices. In the past, individuals used to buy items such as books and DVDS from the library or movies from the movie center. However, with the invention of the cell phone people purchase their items through their cell phones whether from Amazon or EBay websites. Users can also call hotel and airplane ticket companies in order to make reservations. Indeed, users can even call for delivery of food if they feel too lazy to go out. According to Digital Buzz website in May 2013,
Worldwide 35% of cellphone owners have purchased online from their devices (Digital Buzz). Another advantage of shopping online is less taxes, no crowds, save gas, and time (CPC Strategy Blog).

To conclude, cell phones have created a multitasking ability that was never possible before. People are able to text message, web search, and purchase through the web at any time. There are endless possibilities when it comes to cell phones and the future of cell phones is going to be incredible. Even looking at the development of the cell phone is amazing because every so often there are so many new features added such as Siri, which is an application for Apple Inc.’s that acts as an individual right hand and information guide (Siri). IOS which is a mobile operating system devIeloped by Apple Inc, and distributed exclusively for Apple hardware (IOS). Brian Shane wrote that “a growing number of schools are turning to the smart phones students bring with them to school as an instructional device that can augment classroom learning” (Smart Devices Make for Smart Kids). Many people would vote against this decision considering it may be a big distraction in the classroom; but everyone must face the fact that smart phones are not going away. Instead, they are only becoming more popular day by day. They become a helpful tool when researching topics, they have many apps that can help educationally, and if used in the proper way it can even enhance the learning process in the classroom. Eston Melton, an assistant principal at West Potomac High School in Alexandria said “Students can better internalize their lessons when they’re doing them on their own personal smart phones or tablets” (Smart Devices Make for Smart Kids). For these reasons, many schools have begun to allow cell phones in the class room for educational purposes. Due to the fact that cell phones help students in many ways during school hours, cell phone use should be allowed in classrooms all around.…
