The Scarlet Ibis Reflection
The story I chose out of the three I was given is titled The Scarlet Ibis. It was my personal favorite out of the three given. The story itself is about a young man whom throughout the story is only called Brother, I found this rather strange considering the fact his younger brother was given a proper name, well nickname, that being Doodle. The plot of the story I found rather dark. Throughout the story Doodle is disabled and cannot walk, Brother’s goal is to teach Doodle to walk before school starts. Brother does succeed in this but refuses to stop there. It is revealed later in the story that Brothers intentions are to teach Doodle to run, swim, and fight by the end of the summer. He attempts to this by training his brother to his limits.
