Have you ever felt so defeated that you truly believe that it would be easier to give up and end it all? That is how I felt when I had major anxiety attacks everyday, severe depression, and self body image issues.…

My prediction for this article was that kids are sometimes really scared of numbers and that’s why they don’t do well in math. The article never really said that but for me I think the author put “Fear of Numbers” as the title since some people don’t understand math and they don’t want to be looked down on in society, since it’s embarrassing if you don’t know if you have enough money for a coffee. But if I was the one who wrote this I’d call it “Suiting the Student” since they say kids don’t learn math because of the teachers and how they teach it. So if they teach it to suit the student they’d actually learn it.…

When I went in for my appointment with a mental health counselor, all I was given was a name, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). I was not given any specific way to get better, and I slowly realized that if I was going to get better, it would be up to me. I need to be more honest with myself and who I am. After today, this diagnosis became a part of who I was. From here on, I need to focus on becoming the best version of myself. Sometimes it is too much for me to deal with on my own, so I put my worries onto other people. I can’t do that anymore because I lost so many friends from this. Today was a start. Even though this is just a step, I am still moving…

There is not an exact cause of Agoraphobia. Panic may become a learned behavior. Agoraphobia sometimes occurs when a person has had a panic attack and begins to fear situations that might lead to another panic attack (Taylor CT, 2012). Agoraphobia also tends to run in families and sometimes has a…
Anxiety is the most common mental illness in the United States, and like many mental illnesses, anxiety is hereditary. This mental illness arises in response to apparently innocuous situations and is the product of subjective, internal, and emotional conflicts the causes of which may not be apparent to the person himself. Anxiety affects people differently, some people's anxiety arises in the course of daily life and is considered normal. (Anxiety) Anxiety can be known as a phobia (when unreasonable evoked by a specific object of event), but in regular terms a free-floating-persistent associated with no particular cause or mental concern. This illness is an adaptive mechanism that signals a potentially harmful internal or external change and…

Unfortunately, humans have the incredible capability of being ill without actually appearing to be sick. This is exactly what an anxiety disorder looks like. Victims silently suffer within their own mind, and no one can visualize their mental exhaustion or pain. Anxiety disorders silently lurk in many ordinary people and can often go completely unnoticed. Although anxiety disorders cannot be cured, they can be monitored, addressed, treated and researched.…
Most people do not completely understand my anxiety disorder nor how I developed into myself. Despite a proud person now, I remember crying at thirteen when I became overwhelmed by life. Sometimes it was my homework that overwhelmed me, my family, my feelings, or nothing at all. The dread and nervousness consumed me inside. Maybe it was the abuse that I suffered that began my disorder. It hurts me so much to recall how my dad did not nurture me. He screamed at me, neglected my feelings, and pushed aside my basic needs. Overall, these are the two principal life experiences that shaped me.…

What is anxiety disorder? Anxiety disorder is really nothing more than a set of reactions and habits which may have very real merit in certain situations but which are experienced in situations in which they have no use or merit. When one is in a dark parking garage and feels that they are being followed, the reflexes that lend our muscles the strength to run or fight like an animal and the psychological condition that transforms us from rational creatures to beings driven by our most primal desire to survive are useful things. Those reflexes, however, are wholly inappropriate in most other situations.…
