Studying Body Language: Flirting
He Loves Me He Loves Me Not

“I’m not asking for much, only…your voice…
My voice? If I give away my voice than how could I ever…

You’ll have your looks!
Your pretty face!
And don’t underestimate
The importance of
Body Language!

The men up there don’t
Like a lot of blabber
They Think a girl who
Gossips is a bore.
Yes, on land it’s much preferred
For ladies not to say a word
And after all, dear
What is idle prattle for?”

More than we realize, our body language speaks more of what we think and feel than a spoken word reveals. The way we sit, stand, smile, and gaze all give off a different gesture. According to Tracy Cox (n.d.), author of the article “18 Body Language Clues That Say He’s Interested - Definitely”, “Women choose from no less than 52 moves to show men they’re interested. The average man chooses from a maximum of 10 to attract a female.”(p. 2) So what does he do to let you know he’s interested? How should you react to let him know you are willing to give him a shot? Journey with me into the body language of the dating world to find these answers. Take a look back at your last first date. How was he sitting? Did he sit on the edge of his seat, were his toes pointed toward one another, did he sit on his hands, did he shift his chair and tap his fingers? All of these simple subconscious movements suggest if he likes or dislikes you. If he sits on the edge of his seat, or crosses his legs with the crossed leg pointing towards you, that gestures that is interested in what you have to say. (Cox, n.d., p. 4) An article authored by the Cosmopolitan (2009) tells us that if he is sitting, or even standing, with his toes pointed towards each other, this usually implies that he is not sure if the feeling is mutual. (para. 3) When a man sits on his hands while talking with you, this means he is trying to control what he wants to say. He is trying to impress you and wants to make sure he says the right thing at the right time.

We communicate as much or maybe more through body language as we do with words. This includes facial expressions, eye contact, our stance or movement of arms, hands and legs. E.g. Effective body communication could be an open body stance, focusing your eyes on the service user or individual. Whereas crossing your arms or legs, sideway glances could block effective communication.…

The Importance of Body Language Body language, communicating through gestures, is often the key to a meaningful conversation. These gestures that we apply in our conversations often help us to get our point across, or to show someone something that we just can’t describe in words. Sometimes we communicate this way without even realizing it. Many gestures we perform on a daily basis affect the outcome of a conversation such as a person becoming needlessly insulted, divorce, and how people perceive someone.…

Body language definitely plays a big role in influencing communication, by observing body language alone it makes it easy for you toidentify whether somebody shows interest or puts value in what you are saying. It also allows you to make pre judgements about an individual. For instance an audience or an individual can perceive a speaker/someone as arrogant based on the body language he makes and not the content. Nonverbally I think I show more facial expressions than any other way discussed. I’ve been told you can tell how I’m feeling by the looks on my face. I think eye contact is another nonverbal way I communicate. When speaking to other people I always make eye contact so that they know they have my full attention, I also sometimes nod when talking to people if I am in agreement with them. I think by doing that the person I am speaking to knows I am on the same page as them.…

When you have a biggest crush on some guy but you don't have idea on how to flirt with him. You want his attention but you're afraid of making a fool of yourself. Well maybe what you need are a few flirting rules. First, Let him know that you're interested. You can send a few signals to him like give him an ever so sly smile, look at him for a couple of more seconds and look away. You have not looking at him too often no matter how pretty he is. If the first step have worked up go to start talking with him. You should start with a warm smile that makes you seem approachable and friendly then chat him up about something you have in common, such as school, work, or hobbies. You should open question about him, This will show you're interested in getting to know him, not just interested in talking about yourself. Talking him playfully is also a good way to get him comfortable. After you talk and get comfortable with each other, next step is find a chance to touch him like an accidental touch his arm or shoulder when he says something that makes you laugh. Touching can help you both feel a little bit closer. Let's move on to the next step, Compliment him. Ladies love compliments and believe it or not, men do too! During the conversation, give him a compliment. If you think his smile is cute, let him know. But as with every tip, be frugal with the compliments too. For example, “Awww I love your dimples” should say once maybe twice. Besides, too many compliments may make you seem fake so be careful. Lastly but most importantly, Stop while it's still fun. Always remember to leave at hight point. If you feel like the conversation drag so long, it's time to say goodbye. It's the last thing you want to do but trust me this way he'll look forward to see you agian. Let the goodbye be confident, flirty and short like “Hopefully we will have a chance meet agian” If you're stick to these flirting rules, you'll be an expert flirt in short time and I…
