1.) Started working with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) since 2001
2.) Began to build 75% of all new company-owned stores to be certified under the LEED® green building standard in 2011
i. Uses LEDs -> 7% energy reduction from lighting
3.) Energy and water conservation strategies in stores
i. Purchased 50 percent renewable energy to power its global company-owned stores ii. Goal: use 100% renewable energy by 2015
