Some people may have wondered of how the universe was created. Many great scientists and philosophers have spent the past few centuries trying to explain the creation of the universe or the point at which time began. No theories have been more accepted than Stephen Hawking. In the past 50 years, Hawking has made major discoveries and breakthroughs about space and time. Some may put him in the same category as Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton for his knowledge in Cosmology, Mathematics and Physics. Stephen Hawking is a man defined not only by his disability, but his bravery and intelligence in the science field. Stephen Hawking has displayed great amounts of bravery and determination throughout his life, beginning with his …show more content…
This was revolutionary for Hawking (Harwood, par. 22). Hawking was now able to share his ideas and studies with the world. Hawking spoke out on behalf of people with disability and demanded that the University of Cambridge installs ramps and access ways for all there disabled students in the 1990s (Mlodinow). Stephen Hawking is still fighting for wheelchair accessibility at all Universities worldwide. Since the 1970s Hawking has delivered over 600 lectures and speeches to promote his studies, findings and stands up for the disabled who do not have a voice (Hawking, 1665). Through these acts of kindness Hawking has displayed a great amount of bravery and …show more content…
Hawking has discovered twelve new theories in his lifetime that have impacted the research of space and time, his most famous being A Train Ride Through the Universe (Harwood, par. 17). These theories has inspired scientists to explore and discover even more possibilities. Hawking, makes an attempt everyday to continue his work. Carl Sagan states, “It is what we love, we will die doing it” (Sagan 15). Hawking, to this day, is publishing his work through books. His most recent book, The Grand Design, provides an explanation on parallel universes. His most famous books are, A Brief History of Time and A Briefer History of Time, which discuss the wonders of a different universe, black matter, and questions we have about the moment of which time began (Hawking 1669). From his great achievements, accomplishments, and contributions to science, people can tell that Hawking has an extreme intelligence by far from anyone in the 21st Century.
Olewinski 3 In conclusion, Stephen Hawking may be considered one of the most influential physicist of our time. He displays a great deal of bravery and determination through his attitude towards his disability and his acts of kindness to help promote awareness to those who are disabled. He also displays a great deal of intelligence through his books, studies and theories of time and space. Hawking once stated,
