Privilege. Privilege is heard around social justice spaces, schools, family and even friends. So what is privilege? Privilege is having a special right, some sort of advantage that belongs to either a specific individual or group of specific people but not to others. These kind of advantages come from being a certain race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, class, etc. The privilege walk is an activity designed to help people understand the effects of societal privileges. This activity included 35 social privileges or disadvantages that were then read to 10 individuals. With each statement read, they would either take a step back or forward depending on how they identified with the statement. I have never seen, heard nor done the activity
